    Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: fished from 6 am to 11 am. Clear, sunny day and calm water. only about 20 boats on entire lake. Wind picked up at 10 am but just enough to push the boat, not alot.

Bass are shallow feeding on shad, with several boils seen on the western side of the lake including mcclure point, the dam and s. barretts.

Alot of these bass are very small 4-5 in. but they are sorting by size and I got into a pack of 14-18 inchers weight up to 2 lbs. on a shallow rocky main lake point. at the time I was using a DT-6 rapala in shad and I didn't even get to reteieve it, they just clobbered it.

Tips: Wind, shad boils, shad imitators... priceless

Report: Started at 5:50 am with top water and only had 2 slap at it. After an hour of nothing Steve Melander of Berserk Baits switched to drop shot and had three with in 15 minutes.

I finally switched over an hour later and we took turns catching a lot of smaller fish (good to see the population is thriving). Finally hooked several keepers from 9:00-11:00

The big bass have gone deep and are not active

    Water Temp: 62-63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: caught 2, 14 inch red eyed males off rock walls, using a wacky rigged 4 inch brown and purple senko.

I fished from 2pm to 7pm. Initially fish were inactive, but when the light began to fail the action improved.

weather was overcast with sprinkles, almost no wind, calm water.

Tips: this is a tough time of year for me still. These fish seem to want weight less presentations...reaction baits are a waste of time. stick to jigs, weightless soft plastics etc.

Report: ALERT!!! regular anglers at McClure. I lost my prescription sunglasses somewhere at or around the ramp. They are amber ray bans. If anybody see's them, could you e-mail me please? If anybody has some time, on the way out of the park, could you ask if they have a lost and found and get a number for me? I don't know when the next time I'll be up there. Thanks everybody.

Report: Launched at the ramp by the damn. headed down past the damn and hit a few coves. we hit the water at about 0730hrs and was fishing by 0800hrs. the fish were coming up and hitting bugs on top of the water. I decided to throw a suspending jerk bait. the bite was very active. they were all small (about 1/2lb) but it was still fun. once it got hot though, the bite died

    Water Temp: 51-62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

    Report: Fished from 730-200pm

    Water temp at inlet/bagby arm...51
water temp at piney creek ......57-58
water temp at mcclure point ....61-62

water clarity 7-8ft.(a debris field in bagby arm)

Active bite from small male bass. Senkos working well. Still no particular reaction bite from crank baits and spinnerbaits. Did so well on Senko's that I never got to drop shot, football jig or shakey.

I was using a ripbait early on and caught trout on it. Also wife came with me, latter in the day and had trout try to eat small 3" swimbaits.

I caught bass on a number of different areas, so not really clear what structure they were on as a patern, but they were still deep...15-25ft. most bass were 14in or so.
    City: Atwater

Tips: soft plastics, little or no weight...deepish

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I haven't been on this lake since last fall. Is there anyone out there that can tell me what the water level is and how hot the bite is right now? I don't need to know what lures are being used or what spots to fish. I am planning on taking my son up this weekend and I was just wondering if it's worth the trip. I would appreciate any feedback that anyone might be able to give me. Thanks.

    Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: sunny, partly cloudy with wind 5-15mph comming from the south, blowiing to the NNW corner.
some patchy water temps some areas 60 others 55.
Inactive bite....seemed they were still 24-28ft down some anglers caught fish on senko's dragged on the bottom. Another tournament out of South Barretts again, but I didn't cath the Organization. The Anglers came ripping in at 2'oclock...funny how the no wake zone gets ignored for tournaments....I spent a few minutes waiting to cross the lake why they measured thier manhood.

Report: CBL with our second tourney of the year. 14 boats fished and most of the fish came on drop shot, worms in craw patterns. Other limits came on senkos and carolinas. One team caught some on cranks. It seemed the bigger fish 3#s were caught and lost on the jig.(the ones that get away are always big, LOL) Most guys fished from Barrets to the south. Winning teams was 6# 15oz, big fish 1#14oz that should pick up next month. Our next tourney in at Los Banos May 16, interested? 988-5818
    City: turlock

Tips: It was better a week ago. Fish it slow and be ready for it to unload next month. Alex, great to here you're fishin the Van Guilder Tourny. I have a couple you or anyone else can fish at McClure also in April/May

    Water Temp: 51-55

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished from noon to 3pm. Wind pushed strongly from the dam toward piney creek and a bit east as well. The water was very clear at over 8 feet, debris dimishing everywhere except an area near horseshoe bend, likely an inflow from bagby creating flotsam area. Water much higher over the last week. THe pilings near south barrett are covered. The water is approaching the tunnel at mclure point. The water is remarkably unchanged in temprature.

    Fishing was inactive.

The trout trollers seemed centered at the dam, and hugely at bagby, but the bank fishermen were doing well as well.
    City: Atwater

Tips: look deep again...25-30ft and slow....some fish may still be shallow, but I missed them.

Tips: The Mike Van Guilder Sr. Memorial tournament is comming up in April 26, 2009 and will be my first tournament. My 25hp boat and I are hoping to save face and boat a 5 fish limit so I'm keeping more to myself...sorry.

    Water Temp: 50(bagby) 55(mc

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 1130-400pm. Tried crankbaits, spinnerbaits, dartheads and wacky worm without luck. to be fair I was with my son and spent time practicing casting.

100 percnet Bass was out enforce. Again, many of the tournements are allowing poor behavior on the water. I saw a guy going 30mph in the 5 mph zone inbetween the houseboats. I saw racing. I saw guys going full blast near the shore ruining the fishing in that area for a period of time.

I wish there were rules or officials to control that "stuff".

    City: modesto
