Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished in the wind and cold this evening at dusk for 1 hour. Flipping the tules at bridge on South Lake. Had a bite on 6" brown/chartreuse tail Power Worm (rigged on a 3/3 oz round jighead) that took the tail off. Checked my reports from last year. The fish were showing up about this time. The bad weather we had in March and April may have put them off a few weeks, but they should be around soon.

Tips: Patience, patience... and dress warm.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Out from 10:30am to 4:00pm. South and North lakes and impoundment. It was windy - again and primarily threw a Bass Assassinator spinnerbait and flipped YUM Wooly Hawg or Berkeley 6" plastic worm cinnamon brown w/ black flecks and chartreuse curly tail into tules till about 3:00pm. Ran into a couple of bassers tossing spinnerbaits. A day in the sun and wind, with nary a bite, bump or hit. Went back to impoundment around 3:00pm and tossed a jointed crankbait, Excalibut Spittin' Image top water, wacky rigged Senko for an hour- to no avail.
    City: Daly City

Tips: I'm gonna wait for conditions to settle down a bit - go back out tonight (5/28)at a little before dusk...the bass are out there...I can just feel it.

    Water Temp: getting warmer

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished same spots as on the 23rd. Conditions very different today. Cold and Windy - whitecaps on the main lake body (South). Just stayed out for an hour and a half. There was the carp guy at the impoundment. No other fishermen were out this morning...I flipped a wacky rigged senko along the tules at the west end of the bridge on south lake. Dropped a small minnow bait along the tules at the John Muir Drive pier. Nothing doing today. I brought very little tackle with me. I shoulda had a spinnerbait, with the windy conditions.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished South Lake and impound at dusk for about an hour and a half. Tossed a white Bass Assassinator spinnerbait and got 2 short strikes at the Impoundment, but no fish. Moved to the other side at the bridge, where four other bassers were at it tossing crankbaits and Senkos. I switched to a 4 inch blue plastic worm, Texas rigged and flipped the tules for a few minutes...not a bite. The fish are there. Several were caught this week by the guys I was fishing with, however not this time.

Report: Went out after work today. Threw a purple power worm on the launch ramp got a bite and then nothing. Moved to the first set on tules on the north lake throwing a spinner and caught the weirdest thing ever. A CLAM!! Hooked it right between the two shell halfs. Of course released it. He! He!

    Water Temp: warmer than it

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished South Lake, North Lake and Impoundment. Threw spinner baits,Texas rigged plastic worm (6 " Berkeley Power worm black w/ chartreuse curley tail)and drop shot plastic 4 1/2" Aaron's Magic Robo worm. Also tried a crankbait(Rapala Fat Rap black and gold). It was warm today and the water has warmed considerably. Saturday I spotted several bass cruising shallow. Today - nothing. Nada, zip zilch. I did however, smoke an excellent Dominican Partagas Perfecto while attempting to fish over, under and around a Russian gentleman bait dunking corn meal balls for carp in the impoundment.
    City: Daly City

Tips: Try to hit your spots on the bank early - before the carp guys get out there. With 2 poles, they can close off any small bank section, making it really tough to fan cast an area. Time to get out the tube....

Report: When I went to merced the other day, why were these guys keeping a pregnant bass. Besides bass fishing being a sport and all bass should be released, they don't even taste good. Merced is such a small lake to be doing that. It just pisses me off to see that. You fisherman understand right!!!!!

    Water Temp: cold

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Went out for a couple of hours today. Fished the South Lake by the bridge. Picked up one small bass on a drop shot rig about 18 inches from the bottom using a green/brown Roboworm. Took me a couple of opportunities to get it. I haven't been out to the Lake in a while. It was a great day, weather wise. The impoundment looks very high with water almost all the way back to the little road, leaving very little beach to fish from.
