  • Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished this past weekend. Better fishing was main lake and part way up the river. Far up the river is muddy and full of floating debris above the last big turn. We used brown jigs and drop shot Pro Worms for about 11 pounds on one day. Ten pounds on another day. The lake is in great shape and is now on the highest level ramp on the south side.

Tips: Fish where you will be snagging and breaking off in the rocks. The Pro Worms, and information, are available at Valley Rod and Gun in Clovis.

Report: Nice day at Millerton today. Great weather, lots of 14-16 inch spotted bass willing to bite all over the lake. Only fished the points on the main lake and probably managed 30 spots in about 4 hours fishing.

Today we used jigs as our main bait and small 4 inch texas rigged Keeper worms as our secondary bait. Both baits worked supurbly. Again, this is a great lake to take a kid fishing.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Jigs, texas rigged plastics and senkos working good right now.

Report: Good action on spotted bass but on the small side. Plastics and jigs worked best for us today. Minimal traffic on the lake today. Lake appears to be around 80% full. Should explode next week.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Small plastics and finesse jigs in brown and orange are working well.

Report: Friday was a beautiful day, a gift not to be wasted. After 2pm, hiked the banks at Winchell Cove on the opposite side of the marina. Found a little shelf and tossed out a River2Sea craw and pulled out two two pounders within 10 minutes of each other. Tried different presentations in the same location but to no avail. Walked further East to hit more banks, pulled in a short fish, and that was it for the day. Little craw was all that seemed to work that day.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Uphill bottom bump plastic craws

Report: This lake is hopping with tons of small spotted bass that are willing to bite plastics from the banks to 40 feet deep. However if you want to find a larger fish, jigs or swimbaits are the ticket. This is a great lake to take a kid fishing now and my nephew and I had great fun jumping from cove to cove nailing spots up to 2 pounds on jigs. Will try this lake again this weekend.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Plastics, jigs, ripbaits all work here now.

    Water Temp: 60s

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Due to the SAN JOAQUIN SALMON RESTORATION PROJECT, the outflow of water to the lower San Joaquin River is really affecting the lake. I went out throughout the entire week and you can notice it!! The water clarity is incredible, you can literally see for forever with a good pair of fishing glasses..this makes for tough fishing though, the fishes are very easily spooked. Dock 1 is still in use for boaters.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Go out early!! This is really hard to do due to the fact that it doesn't open until 6...limits up to 12 pounds possible fishing between 6 and 730. Watch the noise and rattles...the fish will be spooked. Spots will be in schools foraging for smaller bass and bluegills.

The bass are in their fall transition stage, so find deep points!! They will be running down those points throughout the day as it gets hotter.

    Patterns:
-Shallow Cranking...I prefer the LUCKY CRAFT FAT CB3 in GHOST MINNOW...do this early in the morning...if you want to crank later in the day then make sure you are making contact with some kind of structure if not the bottom.
-Drop Shot...ROBO WORMS in BABY BASS, AARONS MAGIC, AND especially MORNING DAWN!!
-Top Water...frog bite??!! Yes! The frog bite is ON!! But you will have to find the big ones...no doubt dinks are also fun too!..for this I recommend you use ZOOMs HORNY TOAD in BROWN/WHITE with braided or else it will sink!

Report: Fished both the 15th and 16th. Friday 5:30-11:00am caught 30 fish 15 keepers and 15 shorts. All spots. Best 5 10 lbs. Saturday 9am - 2pm caught 40 fish. All spots except for 1 smallie. 20 keepers and 20 shorts. Best 5 12 lbs

Dropshot in 18-20ft on flats with no structure. Fish are gorged with baby shad, spitting them out as you bring them up.
    City: Madera

Tips: Get on the electronics and find them. They will stay on the deep flats as long as the stripers are not after them. They are grouped together after the shad. Lots of fun

Report: Fished main lake flats with topwater in the morning and caught 2 2.5-3#. When the sun came out I started to look for beds. I found 6 fish locked on and 8 or 9 up getting some sun. 3 of the fish i caught one was a 5 pounder. I then went upriver and caught about 10 throwing at the bank with a fluke, lemon shad. They were a little smaller 1-2# i did however catch a black that went 3 1/2. I caught alot on a jig in about 20ft of water with biggest about 2#. Fishing is starting to get real good. By the time the won tourney gets here there should be lots on beds.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water about 5Pm last night. My Bro hit the 2sd cast with a 3.10lb spot. We fished until about 9:30 most fish came on a drop shot. It was hit and miss until sunset then the bite came alive. Top water netted a lot of fish most in the 6" to 14" with bigger ones mixed into the hits. Dans drop shot worked for him all evening having one break off 6lb test. Blades in Black/red with a Colorado blade slow netted some good ones. The jig and Texas worked good but not the numbers of the D/S. I had some good fish boated big fish on the blade 3.0 lbs. We both had good limits.
    City: Fresno

Tips: They are feeding in the evening and the bite picks up at sunset and better at night.
Purple death on the drop shot black blades and sweet beavers on Texas rigs are working as well.
The main thing is slow just fast enough to feel the blade turning cast as close to the bank as you can. I lost 3 blades in the rocks but, that's where they wanted it.

    City: Madera

Tips: Dropshot prism shad, the bass were full of shad and puked them up up all over my boat deck.
