I worked jigs, dragged worms and craws, and swim baits. Not a bite anywhere!!!!! Ouchhhhhh! Others said the same at the ramp as well. Report: for those who haven't been in 2008. all boats are being inspected, any water whatsoever in your livewells and you will be refused entry into the lake (remember ANY water at all), also you will have to provide proof of residence with a drivers license, if you live in Nevada, San Benito counties, or south of the Tehachapi mountains you will not be allowed to launch, doesn't matter that your boat may be registered somewhere else. They do a full inspection of boat, livewells an bildge area, record all license info and tags. Saw multiple people turned away at the ramp. I am only posting this so that your aware of it, maybe save you some frustration and money in wasted gas.
fishing was not great, caught a few, nothing significant, lake is fairly clear 10-12 ft of visibility and 46-48 degrees, lots of bankies in their usual places, trout fishing looked fair, lake appears to be in great shape and 15-20 ft from the high water mark.
    City: lockeford

Tips: fish slow, main points 15-25 ft of water.
did i say fish slow? really, fish slow!

Report: Decided to to try Pardee before they closed for the rest of the year. Fishing was very tough as it appears lake has turned over (trout hitting all over on the surface ) No reaction bait bite and never caught a smallmouth?

Tips: caught 4 keeper largemouth up to 3 lbs and lost two others when they jumped . bites were very subtle . 10-15 feet deep on soft plastics fishing steep rock bank on main river channel . once the sun was on the water the bite died and it was over for me .

Report: Sure, I'm paying all that dough to fish there and not keep those rascals to feed my belly, sure. Fish will only die anyway soonber or later.
    City: davis

Tips: Think of it as saving a trip to the store. Craws are all over the lake and are the bass'es mainstay in warmer months. Hope you can hear my tune.

Report: Please DO NOT use live bait, it kills the smaller fish that you would otherwise release if not deep hooked. Please release all BIG fish. Please only harvest the medium sized fish and then only what you will DEFINITELY eat. Please DO NOT retain 18lbs of fish per outing, that is just too much. Thank you and Tight lines.

    Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Took some advice of previous reporters and utilized live craws. Went to the public hole (Levesque point) and worked the bait but no bites. I decided to let the bait crawl around and only move it a bit when it stopped moving. WHAM< WHAM< WHAM, nice fish abundant, even broke my line four times, ended up with a limit about 18 pounds, all smallies. The best trip I've ever had there and I will go back and camp out on that point.
    City: davis

Tips: Live bait really works great this time of year and I guess all the other months also. I'm now looking for a wall hanger limit of five.

Report: Worked levesque point with crawdads, got only three fish from it , but they were very nice. Got broken off once. I was using flouro 15 pound test and it still broke it, must have been huge. Went ove rto dam and got some more on top water. Can't afford swimbaits, I bet they would be good in trout color. Did not have a scale , but I had around 14 pounds, I guess.
    City: lodi

Tips: Save money, get better equipment, to catch the ones that got away. That's why we keep comming back.

    Water Temp: 76.9-90.3

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We got on the water at about 6:15 we started out on a point near the mouth of the river arm. I had my dad throwing a double jointed castaic and I was throwing an ROF-12 Hudd. I stuck with that for about 3 hours. I moved us onto a point that was further down the river, I fished a stacey for about 15 minutes. At about 10:00 I was making my way between two points and saw a laydown that started in 8 feet of water and went to about 30 feet. I sent down a drop-shot with 6" blue crawler robo, the second it hit bottom I hooked into a smallmouth. My dad threw his senko to it and pulled off a small largemouth. We followed this pattern for about 2 hours, we hit one point with a spider jig, no takers. We ended out the day with 6 bass and one big rainbow.
    City: Palo Alto

Tips: If you have the patience in the morning throw the Hudd. You can see down in some places 20ft+ so flourocarbon is a must. Once 9:00 comes around slow down and fish the 20ft range w/ jigs, worms, and anything else your comfortable with.

    tight lines,
    Elliott

    Water Temp: 76 degrees

Report: Sonora Bass held a club tournament on Saturday. 17 teams competed, only 3 teams caught limits. Jim James and George Broekema took first place with 21.18 lbs. James Smith and Jason Wood took second place with 20.75 lbs. Nick & Karen Chipponeri took third with 17.26 lbs. Most fish were caught on plastics. Drop shotting, dart head, texas rig & shaky head. Geen pumpkin and watermelon. The fish came from 1 foot to as deep as thirty feet. As the sun got high, the fish hid just out of sight, around 20-25 feet. Rod Bayers caught a 4.58 smallie that was beautiful to look at. Tony Serrano caught a nice 4 lb smallie as well. Honorable mention goes to Carol Krawchuk because she caught all the fish and her husband Dave did NOT. For info on the club call 928-5803
    City: Sonora

Tips: Catch them early. Use soft plastics in green pumpkin & watermelon. Good Luck.

Report: Got a day off, fish have disappeared from last trip. Went to main lake underwater point caught three backs and one smallie. Two were keeeper size. Threw top water spooks early, got a few blow ups , but no hookups. i should have thown a pico, something smaller. Went up the river caught four keeper blacks and one smallie about 12 inches long. Boy this trip was bad.
    City: stockton

Tips: maybe i should have thrown smaller baits and dart heads. They didn't want the bigger stuff.

    Water Temp: high 70's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished mainbody humps, 30 40 ft, using medium crawdads. Caught one about nine lbs, six over four pounds early. Later on fished certain points where current was available with trout showing, caught two more around tweo to three pounds, then a whopper about eleven pounds. Got broken off by a monster just past the five mile an hour zone.
    City: Stockton

Tips: locate the trout, that's what they are feeding on, but craw fish are an impossible offering to pass up.

Report: Dern it, got broken off first presentation. i sdaw it too, it was an eight or so. Got it within ten feet of boat. It was a black. Fished that little drainage and hit some points and drop-offs with good success onbig smallmouth and a few blacks. Left about noon .
    City: Stockton

Tips: Use crawdads about three inches long, not including claws. I raise them for use when they hybernate. The best bet for lunkers at that lake.
