  • Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Started fishing about 12 and fished until dusk. Caught 9 on a jig, and then hit a dry spell as the day reached it's hottest. The top water evening bite on this lake was amazing as I would have multiple blowups on the same cast. I ended up with 18 fish for the day with my best five going for 18 pounds.
    City: Sonora

Tips: This lake is catch and release only, so there are a ton of 3.5-4.5 pound fish, larger baits will get their attention. The lake is down about 8 feet, and there is DEEP mud near the launch, I got my truck stuck, and I saw one other guy get stuck as well.

Also thru a LC pionter 100 for around five fish all 2.5 to 3 pounds. Caught my biggest on a blade 4.0. Fatherinlaw caught the biggest on kvd 1.5 in bluegill a 4.6. All in all for the first time on the lake i was impressed with quality of the fish and boy they pull hard. Can't wait to go back and try the frog looks like it would be a good frog lake. Had 16+ pounds not bad for a first timer. Seems like a fun and Cheap lake to fish.

Report: Me and little bro decided to come back for more after a kicka*% trip here about three weeks earlier. $20.00. is the fee to fish! but well worth it if you know what your doing. We saw maybe three boats the whole day. I caught 15 bass on various techs. Threw a BG trick worm shaky head, PB&J Senko, dropshot, and spinnerbait. My biggest fish came on the spinnerbait about 4 1/2#s. I had one fish bite my senko as I was reeling in two feet from the boat. WOW!

Report: Well as my luck seems to have it I get up there after a BIG COLD front-water is gushing over the spillway bigtime.....wind is howling outta the north and it is pretty cool. Fished for several hours and had one tiny bite that I would almost gaurantee was a crappie or gill. Tried several areas with several different lures but it just wasnt my day. :( Lake is full, full, full and looks as good as ever. This place is gonna be the BOMB later in the spring I'll gaurantee it! A 6+ was caught right before the storm came in!

    Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished a small club tournament Sunday-Manteca Bassin Buddies. We had about 13 boats, with several guest boats showing up. Lake was pretty full, there was a trickle going over the spill-way.

Fish weren't holding on rocks for us, all caught relatively shallow in weeds. We caught all of our fish on jigs, one on a baby senko. Others caught them on senkos, spinnerbaits, and drop-shotting. We had a winning weight of 13.90 for 5 fish (8 total fish for the day). Four other teams had between 10-12 lbs.
    City: Elk Grove

Tips: Seemed to be schooled up a bit. If you find a fish that is active, stay put. Look for weeds off of points. Real subtle bite.
