Water Temp: about 57
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: first of all, the water is kinda stained/clear. i just had to pick one. anyone who needs tips with bass fishing san pablo- the bass here are VERY finnicky. They won't bite anything but a 30 dollar trout swimbait, or a nightcrawler. However, it's worth it- these fish are pigs! Also, cast your bait from the bank- any bank that has a decent amount of weeds- cast just like you would trout fishing, and slowly retrieve it.
City: el cerritoTips: Nothing more, i've never caught a bass here because they're so damn finnicky, but another tip: just if you catch a small trout- if you are willing to trout fish- take the trout and hook it with a 5 ot. through the mouth, then you might actually catch one of these donkey bass. just make sure the trout is still alive to move in the water.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished all day. Threw everything in the tackle box and finally had to give in to some powerbait and ended up with one little lonely trout. Can anyone tell me how to catch bass out of this lake?

Water Temp: 60's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Me and my Dad Woke up at the crack o dawn and rented a boat. Tried scow canyon first and stopped at several places. There were fish jumping all over the damn place, one jumped about every minute. These fish couldn't have been trout, they didn't bite on anything. My gess would be that they were carp. ANyway, after trying scow canyon for trout and bass and getting only 2 bites, we moved on. Fished countless other places and finally stopped at Sandy Point. AT sandy point, we caught 7 trout in an hour and a half at around 2:00pm.Thats the thing i hate about san pablo, every time ive gone theres 1 or 2 overcrowded hot spots were u can catch a limit in an hour and the rest of the lake is shit where ur lucky to get 1 bite every hour.I dont know maybe we come here at the wrong time, this lake really frustrates me but it was fun once we started hitting the fish. The fish arent as big as they advertise, average was like 15 inches(which is not bad i geuss) but the damn website makes it sound like avergage fish is 3 pounds. All in all, a frustrating day at first, but turned out to be okay.
City: San FranciscoTips: This lake is definatley worth sum time and can be very productive, But Dont always come here, its hard to know how the fishing will be.DONT ALWAYS TRUST THE WEBSITE!

Report: hit the water today at 10:00 and fished until 6:00. only one fish for a days worth of work. i DID throw swimbaits a lot so that explains part of it but i threw shakey heads, dropshots, and chatterbaits too, with no takers - held back on the senko. finally got a 4-09 at 5:15 on a huddlebug. i was hoping for a lot better day since the temps are starting to rise and the full moon is this week.
City: OrindaTips: i have none. i'm "looking" for some for this lake.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Saw many bass in the shallows. Mostly around rocky points. Caught several 2 pounders. The biggest was 7+ caught by my nephew Cainan. The photo is posted on the photo section. I look for the bass fishing to intensify once the lake warms about 4 more degrees.
City: San RamonTips: Try shallow cranks and spinnerbaits. Slow retrieve.

Water Temp: medium
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Me and a two other buddies went out thinking we could catch some of the 7,200 pounds of stocked trout. And after about an hour of fishing for trout we said screw this, lets step up like men and try for some bass, Within about a one and a half hour period we caught two bass, each roughly about 2 lbs, with a couple other small strikes. Both were caught on a redish skinny plastic 6" worm with a flat tail. Both fish were also caught off points about 200 yards before the tower.
City: DanvilleTips: use baits they can see(baits that move) the water is murky. try drop off's close to shore.

Water Temp: unknown
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished San Pablo for the first time this season with my son. Fished from about 7:30 to 3:30. Caught four bass all together. First bass was the largest, 7.30 lbs. Other three between 1.5 - 2.5 lbs. First three were caught near the launch. The last one was caught on a point on the East side more or less across from the launch. All were caught on a Huddlebug - fished VERY slowly.
City: OrindaTips: Threw swimbaits, crankbaits, lipless cranks and dropshots but only caught fish on the Huddlebug. Bass didn't seem to want a reaction bait yet.

Water Temp: 70ish
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: My first time at San Pablo. Water was really murky and there was this green film on some parts of the lake. Water is very low. Got the boat in the water around 6:30. Saw fish jumping everywhere but didn't catch anything till around noon. Caught a 12-13 inch LM on a white/chart spinner bait. He was hanging under a tracter sized tire in about 3 feet of water. My buddy caught 2 6-8 inchers on the same bait and of course "the huge one" that got away. Bring your sun screen.

Water Temp: n/a
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the launch again, same result as couple of weeks ago, no basses seen around the coves and docks. So, I decided to fish for trout, no bites whatsoever, but guys around the bank are catching catfishes like crazy. There was one guy catching his limit of catfishes ranging from 3-5 pounds each on his stringer. The guys used scent on their baits and caught a few carps too. The crappie bite is on all around the docks, 20 feet out and 2 feet deep with mini jigs, caught a good size lunker crappie on a green mini jig. I used mainly spinner bait the rest of the day and caught a 2 pound male bass, it bit on a white spinnerbait. I threw him back, there are tons of baby basses around the docks and coves. Probaly the only basses hitting are males, no mama hawgs sighted whatsoever. All in all, the catfish and crappie bites are HOT. Bring out you rigs for catfish and panfish, and limit out!
City: ConcordTips: The bites are on 10 am till sunset for catfishes, the crappies come out and feed after 5pm, good palm size crappies caught everywhere around the launch. Wax worms and jigs for crappies, stink bait and scent for catfishes!

Water Temp: n/a
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I fished the launch area all day. Starting at 12pm till closing, the water level is really LOW, some of the docks are unoperable, didn't want to waste money using a boat so I fished the coves all around and saw ZERO basses. I usually have great luck at San Pablo this time of the year, using my spinnerbait, large rooster tails, senkos, lizards and live worms, but to no avail I had ZERO bites. I work the area and coves really hard and saw a few dinks jump. That's about it! This reservoir need a flood to get back to a fishable level, forget the boat, it ain't worth it. I'm gonna try Berryessa next weekend. It's better to have 30-50 dink bites and throwbacks than fish a DEAD lake and waste my time!
City: ConcordTips: Forget it.. wait till a flood come in and then use a boat.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: On a slow day for trout fishing at the Dam, at a little before noon at the mainrec area I caught a 22.5 lb catfish on chiicken liver and night crawlers. It was fairly muddy water and you should prepare to throw deep from the shore.
City: San PabloTips: Although this is a trout lake, lets not forget that this lake has other big fish to be caught too. Be patient catfish and bass fans, the best is yet to come. Welcome back San Pablo Dam.
