Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Best lake in the 70's and 80's.
Now clear and shallow. Hardly any bass left.
    What a shame.

Tips: Don't bother. Waist of time.
    Sorry--just the facts.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: This lake used to be a top producer of bass not just along the coast but anywhere in oregon many years ago. Nobody seems to know what happened to it.
Last time i fished it it was full of stunted perch which may be part of the problem.
Perhaps some sort of algae bloom or even over fishing caused this lake to be a dud.
Wonder if the ODFW have bothered looking into it.
Would be nice if just a little of our licence fees went to Oregon's warmwater fishery.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I hate to be the one to post this, but I have tried to fish this lake the last two years (2009-2010) and the fishing is really poor at best. You may or may not catch a fish out of here. Most of the guys I have talked to have not caught anything out of here either. It seems that the Bass have just died off.

    Water Temp: 71-73

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Siltcoos for the first time in 5-6 years. I actually headed there to confirm my suspicions that Siltcoos was still a tough lake for me. We didn't show up till 11am and the wind was already 15+mph. hooked 4 got 3 to the boat. 2.8,2.7,1.5. and the big one that snapped off. Off the water at 3:30pm. The last time I fished Siltcoos I remember not a lot of fish but the one's you hooked were big, meaning, not a lot of new recruitment of smaller fish. The 2.8 and 2.7 were small females while the 1.5 was a male... good sign for this lake. Maybe it will make a comeback. All fish came from the proverbial Senco. What did I fish before these things came out?!
    City: Medford

Tips: In the old days I would nail them on twin tailed hula grubs and other bait's. I threw them for about 2 hrs. while watching the other guy's stick fish on Senco's. So, reluctantly, I switch to a Senco and wouldn't you know it...Wham! I would really like to find some of my old bait's work again. I'm tired of Senco's! There must be some sort of Bass

    Water Temp: 65ish I'd guess

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Caught some nice bass for the first couple hours before the wind got bad and tried to blow my canoe off the lake. Most of the fish that were caught were on beds, 1-3lb and 1-4lb beefy bass, a few 2s. Using plastic baits mostly large worms precisely placed above hungry bass. Sunny warm weather not at Siltcoos.

    Water Temp: Warm to Touch

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Spent about four hours fishing, started at 4PM. We used spinners(Panther Martins) and nightcrawlers. We got totally skunked for the first three hours, only like four bites. The lake level is very high, they really have it dammed up there.

We were fishing in a driftboat along the shorelines and in the deep, one of us using spinners, and one with worms. The shirrif came motoring by and said HI, didn't give us a ticket for not having our boat numbers put on.

I caught a 14" rainbow trout, the only fish of the day. He stuck on a small yellow spinner, not a panther. Was casting from the shoreline then.
    City: Westlake

Tips: The boat police told us nobody has been catching much. I would say try some early morning and late evening fishing. If it's not during the bite, you might as well take flight...

I got a report on Emigrant lake this morning by reading these pages, and now I know that there is enough water down there to launch my boat..... Might have saved me a lot of gasoline money driving down there and possibly finding out that the lake was way low like it sometimnes is...... Thanks again Justin! ! !

    Water Temp: unknown

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The weather was a bit overcast, with light to moderate afternoon winds out of the south. Air temps were mid 60's. On the lake about 10:00AM began fishing around Booth Island and on up into the Booth Arm with no takers. Next ran to the Big Tressel to ry our luck on some crappie. Again no takers and no strikes. Moved on up to the upper end of Maplet Arm. Dan tied on a bluegill collored Rapala Lipless crankbait (1/4 oz) an got 2-3 strikes throwing it up near shore among down wood. Finally hooked and landed our only bass (est. 1.5-2lbs. Real healthy and fought well. Talked with other fisherman and we did better than they did. Off the lake around 4:00PM. Post spawn conditions were tough as is most of the time on this lake.
