    Water Temp: 55+

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Well the rain helped out big time. The lake is as full as ever and its muddy!!! Decided to get out later this time around 10am. By 11am I had a 3lber, she fought big time and looked very healthy. These fish are in prespawn without doubt. I think with the temps going up this lake is in good condition. With more rain on the way, it can only get better. MARCH MADNESS!!!
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: You need to know where to find them. I found them and then didn't get a bite after. Catch and Release and use lipless crankbaits.

    Water Temp: 50+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out first thing. Lake has gone up to normal with this last rain but the water is still clear, not gin clear but clear.

Found fish in the usual spots but they had lockjaw. Once this water hits 55 I think the prespawn will be on and then the action will start.

Still would be nice to see the DFG stock this lake again instead of Ralphine but the ranger said it will never happen.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Wait for more rain and the water temps to go up a bit. By the end of Feb this lake should start to turn over.

    Water Temp: 46

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had to go out and try this Sprung Leak one more time with the great weather. Got on the lake by 7am and forgot how cold it was, 32 outside.

Threw everything I had at them and they just won't bite. I need to take my own advice, wait until more rain but until then this lake is dead.

Wonder if the DFG will stock this lake now that they are not stocking others lakes??? It would really help this lake. Write the DFG if you care!!!
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Wait for rain. WE NEED RAIN!!!

    Water Temp: 45

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Decided to get out on the lake and see if these rains helped. The lake is up and looking pretty good. Much easier to launch now. Its still very clear and the bite sucks, period!!! What happened to a few months ago when I was catching dinks all day long??? Would have jumped for joy if I had even one today. I'm not even graphing fish now. This happened last year and finally it broke open. I would suggest Sonoma or Clear Lake if you want fish. Seemed like ever cast I had some kind of slime on my lure, not much fun.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Wait for more rain. The rain helped but this lake is in a dead mode. I wouldn't waste my time until after the New Year.

    Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Thought I would try my luck before Thanksgiving so I headed out first thing in the morning. Nobody else on the lake and the lake has really cleared up but is still very low.

Found a few dinks but nothing else. Again this lake needs a real nice storm to get it going. The fish have seemed to move up to towards the shoreline, because I'm not graphing them in the normal drop off areas.

It looks as if the weeds are gone, but they are not!!! Almost every cast comes back with mush or weeds.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Stay away until we get more rain. Clear lake is busting open and I wouldn't waste my time here yet.

    Water Temp: 64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The lake has cleared up but is getting lower and lower every day. The ranger told me that the ramp might have to be closed if we don't get a good storm shortly.

Bottom line is that the dinks are hitting crank baits but nothing bigger is hit anything.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Wait until we have a few storms and this lake might start producing. The gates open at 7am so get there early if you want the morning bite.

    Water Temp: 67

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out first thing in the morning, first on the lake. Didn't get a damn thing, not even a bite. Tried around the island, nothing then decided to run down the sunny side of the North side of the lake. Graphed a ton of fish. Looks like they are sitting on the ledges in about 10 ft all around, but they didn't like my drop shot, jig or cranks. Ended up down by the tulls and cranked and threw senkos in around and never got anything. Found an small cove with a tree sicking out and saw a huge fish swim right around the tree. I threw out my senko and a baby brush hog, nothing. Finally decided to throw cranks so I hooked on my favorite square bill in rainbow trout color and on the first throw nailed a 6lber. Now I know what a 6lber feels like and I have to say, this is my personal best at this lake. This fish was heavy enough I couldn't take it holding in front of me so I had to take a picture with her in the net. Fun fish and I guess this means the fish are starting to move around. The lake is stained and dirty, almost like oil on the surface. Lake is way down and launch isn't that fun but very capable. I think in the the next few months, this lake will be quite fun!!!
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Catch and Release!!! Notify the rangers if you see people keeping the fish!!! Cranks work best in rainbow trout color. Work next to the tulls and in the deeper holes.

Report: do you know what a 10 lber looks like?
i dont doubt there is 10 lbers in there but i think your 10# was a 5lber and your 5# was a 2.5lber.
    City: santa rosa

Tips: i have to see it to believe it. i would of called my buddy to come to spring lake to take a picture of the 10#

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: when i got home from school at about 3:25p.m. i went over to spring lake and after i started to fish,i had only got about 2 bites then there was nothing until about 3:55 then i went to another spot and as i started i hooked a bass about 10-11 lbs. on a worm and then i threw it back into the same spot and then i hooked a great 5 pounder but that was all i want to catch.
    City: santa rosa

Tips: For you other people you guys shoud try using the blue and black worms.

    Water Temp: 76+

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Rolled out first thing in the morning. The lake continues to drop but still able to launch without any issues. Caught over 6 fish but all dinks!!! Nothing legal, but like that matters at this lake!!! I can't believe the people that come to this lake a rob all the small fish. This entire family came to the lake and like a pack of wolves must have caught at least 35 less that 6 inch bass and kept them all!!!! I complained to the rangers and they said there is nothing they can do. I suggested that they inspect people as they leave. He suggested that I contact the DFG which I did and they told me that they would send out an agent to investigate. I don't know why people have to kill off a lake like this. Good thing is that this lake had a great spawn. I see nothing but tons of fry around, so hopefully the lake will survive.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Crankbaits have always been my best friend at this lake but senko work sometimes. I've never had any luck with a topwater bite.

Get there early and report anyone keeping small fish. I wish we could go back to the old days when you could carry a gun!!!!

    Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Lake level is dropping daily. A few weeks back the boat sat up at the dock, now you almost need a ladder it get it!!!

Got out to the lake first thing around 6:45am. Ran down the channel on the north side of the lake between the island and the running trail. Got a 2 lber that fought like a mother!!!

I then fished the rest of the lake without anything. Does this lake have any top water action. The only thing that I seem to ever get fish on is with crankbaits. Used a green bush baby and was very successful.

Talked to few people in tubes and they are stating that people are keeping all the bluegills for dinner!!! Unbelievable!!! Go back to where you came from!!!

All in all, this lake can produce but you need to get there early. Best bet if you really want fish is to venture up to Sonoma or Clear Lake.

The lake also has an algee bloom going on and the weeds are a pain to deal with but who cares, its in my back yard and with gas these days it works.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Crankbaits and get there early. They say the gate opens at 7am, really it opens earlier and if needed you could always wait at the gate. I've yet to do so, no matter how early I've gone.

Report: Got on the lake around 6pm frogged the mats and no luck. went with a drop shot with a Robo worm and dropped it next to cover. got 3 fish within 5 minutes next to the same tree. they were small 1+ pounders but its better than nothin.
    City: Rohnert Park

Tips: dont bring drunk friends. ha

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had battery problems so we didnt get very far. i was afraid we wouldnt make it back to the dock! anyway, after fishing a little bit and getting nothing we slowly crawled back to the dock in our tiny lil boat. As my dad was putting it in the bed of his truck i proceeded to fish off the dock. On my second cast to a spot i got a bite and set the hook on the sucker. landed him, he was 1.5lbs, fun on my med-light setup. after that we went to ilsanjo to fish.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Well the fish have spawned and the males are guarding the fry. I used a watermelon colored YUM Dinger. Pretty shallow and close to cover. Stay a bit off of the cover and cast to it (trees, weeds, tules, etc). If you spook a fish just come back later and try again. Good Luck!!!

Tips: Fish in the deeper water....8 to 15 Feet. I got all mine on a white spinner bait and a Silver shallow diving Shad Rap. Fish above the weeds.

    Water Temp: not sure

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got to lake late this day around 6:30pm. Parked on east side of lake and walk down from by the spill way. Put on a Baby Bass Senko and got a 5+ on my first cast. A young boy of around 11 also caught one around the same size. His father got one about 20 minutes later about 2-3lbs. All caught on the same bait.

    Tips: Catch and Release.

    Water Temp: mid-upper 50's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: past couple of weeks have been warmer, and i've gotten out a couple of times, but not for long periods. My last outing had a big strike on a white 1/2oz spinnerbait. I wasnt really aying attention because we hadnt gotten bit yet and i was looking for another spot to fish. Of course thats when a fish decided to hit the bait! My cousin that i never knew i had came fishing for the first time that day and i set him up with a wacky worm smoke w/purple senko and his bait was near mine and he got a strike by the same fish (im pretty sure) within 8 seconds. His drag was kinda loose and so it was making some noise and he set the hook and the fish kinda took a run. Somehow the fishy managed to throw the hook out and get away, it would have been a really nice first fish for my cousin, but he had a thrill with that strike! He will be coming back to CA from Mex. this summer and we're going to show him some topwater action!!!
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: The fish are moving (if not already) into prespawn and maybe even spawn, but the water was a little too muddy to see if there were any shallow fish. By now probably there would be, but i would assume that most fish are in prespawn. you can try to get a reaction strike like i did or fish slow like my dad and cousin. Good Luck to all! Maybe you'll see me out there during Spring Break! haha... (i cant wait for it)
