Big fish award pot triples after two days of Vanity Cup pre-fishing
Kelseyville CA. - Treated to fantastic weather that laid down pastel blue skies with no wind to speak of, many of the anglers that have arrived for the week-long America's Vanity Cup pre-fish contest, found the bass to be biting good but could not seem to get any of the monsters Clearlake is so famous for to the scales for the daily big fish award.
"I got a couple of nice ones and one over six", said Ken Cassateri, a police officer from Modesto and Snagproof pro-staffer that took many days off to fish the inaugural event. But I just can't seem to get one over 10", he added, clearly optimistic about his chances of winning the daily pre-fish prize of *$1000 that progressively rolls over to the next day if there is no winner.
Teams have come from all over to fish the inaugural event - even as far as Wyoming, Utah, and southern California, with hopes of taking home a bunch of cash, prizes and perhaps the event's first championship title.
Many anglers that could not get into next week's FLW National Guard event on the California Delta due to it filling up, are signing up and welcoming the opportunity to fish the Vanity Cup event, which will give them a great chance to have a fun weekend on the water fishing with a partner of their choice for big money.
And it's still not too late to get in on all the fun, as we will be taking signups for the event all the way up till we blast em' off on Saturday morning.
To sign up call (707) 245-7624. For rules, payback schedule and information about the event please visit www.americasvanitycup.com or www.anglerspress.net.
See you all at the Vanity Cup!
*1000 daily pre-fish award is based on 200 team entries. Monday and Tuesday's pre-fish award was calculated at $500, so Wednesday's pot - with rollovers will be $1,500.
