Whiskeytown California

Whiskeytown Lake is located at an elevation of 1,209 feet in the hills and valleys of California's Klamath Mountains.

It has 3,220 surface acres and 36 miles of shoreline.

Dedicated in Septmeber 1963 by President John F. Kennedy, Whiskeytown Lake was created as part of the Central Valley Water Project for the purposes of flood control, irrigation and power generation. Current park efforts include watershed restoration to restore native fish habitat.
