Report: Fished Friday afternoon and caught 2 on a Senko, 2 on a drop shot and 1 with a popper. Lost another on the drop shot. Launched from the ramp and went to the north. First came within 30 yds. All others came around the island on the inside. Made it as far as the north corner by the dam but only 1 bite in that area. Water appears to be clearing along the shoreline but dirty everywhere else.
Tips: Weightless senkos along the shorelines work top waters slowly. Shad color baits worked better tha. The darker colors.

Water Temp: mid-50's?
Water Clarity: Clear (4-6 feet visibility)
Report: Arrived at the lake around 3 pm and fished until sunset. Left the boat ramp and neaded north. Didn't have a bit until around 5:30, but it was a nice bass about 4 lbs. Caught it on a drop shot using a black/blue worm off the end of the island. Not too many bites right now, but the quality has been really good. A friend and his bro have been there the last couple days and caught several over 4 lbs and one over 6 lbs.
Tips: Quality not quantity right now. Things may change as the front moves through. Water temp is still a little cold to kick on the bite.

Report: Took wife and baby out with me for a walk and a little fishing. First 15 cast nothing then line hit hard. Caught a decent large mouth by the island they have. Pulled it in and it was about 5-6lbs. There was a few nibbles on some stink bait but caught the bass on a spinner. Not bad for the begining of the year on a lake that doesnt have a great reputation for fish.

Report: It's a sad story this lake has been over fished and not being supervised on whats being taking out. I see time and time again a group of people taking out too many small fry, putting them back and taking them home. I went fishing there yesterday and I was shocked how many people we walking around, talking, riding their bike, walking their dogs, too loud too many people for bass fishing (I thought I was in the city). I was also surprised to see all the vessel that were on the water (boats, kayaks etc.) it's change so much since I was a kid. The only bass I been catching are under a pound. I found another lake which not too many people know about and a Sonoma County parks lake which is awesome to fish at( and I'm not telling you where it is at). Spring lake is for small fish or or coming up empty. (also lots of algae which they just sprayed) P.S. That fish in that photo up there is most likely long gone.
Tips: Drop shot rig, roboworms, Trophy bass only way to go. Crank bait early morning or late evenings and to avoid crowds.

Report: Went fishing, some algae in the water. Not sure if they sprayed recently, but hopefully they didn't. Fish seemed to be a little more active, but still hiding when they want to. Had I guy in a tube take a picture of a decent one I caught. I guess others are giving it a try even though the fishing is up and down, but mostly down.
Tips: Fish all day long and you might get a nice one.

Report: It seems this lake is devoid of life since they keep spraying the non existent weeds. I guess lake management doesn't realize how the bass fisherman contribute to there economy. No fish, no bites. You can usually catch little guys, but it appears the Comorants have done away with them, noticed the birds don't seem to be around either. Good Luck!
Tips: Talk to the Rangers about the fishery and let them know how much it has been effected by the spraying. If everyone says something maybe they will take notice. Not to mention they are putting chemicals into the run off creeks of native steel head which are a protected species. I'm just hoping to catch a bass, but I guess that's not going to happen.

Report: Yo I come on here to see how the fishing is at the lake. I've fished this lake for the last 30 years and do great every year. It's nice for me to be able to come on here and see the people like fatchicks takes the time to let the rest of us know how the fishing is. If you want to help the lake then find a way to get them to make it illegal to take fish during the spawn. Instead we get a look of Asians that come with live bait and keep every keeper sizes fish they caught. And trust me I have no problem with anyone keeping fish but lets wait till after the spawn. Anyways FATCHICKS, thank you for all the help

Report: i post reports on this lake maybe too much, your right. but at the same time i have buddys that fish this lake and some of them have to drive a ways.im sure when you go to the delta, clear, sonoma or whatever bodys of water you like to fish im sure you check out reprts, ask freinds and family, call campgrounds, tackleshops etc etc.just trying to be helpfull.just to let you know spring lake isnt a secret, nor are lures. oh yeah reports dont ruin lakes if antthing it helps em.if any thing is ruining the lake its the sonar herbicide they spray,so you should do something bout that instead of bitching at me.i do fish from a belly boat(pontoon) and can post where i like.
Tips: just go out and enjoy the water and maybe catch some nice bass!! oh yeah dont turn into a bass nazi zzzzzzzzzzzz !! good luck.

Report: Decided to take in the nice weather...too bad, nothing. No bites, didn't even graph many fish. The ones I found were on the bottom. This lake needs to warm up to around 60 and then it should get better. Nice to get out again. Saw some belly boaters but they didn't seem to be having much luck either.
Tips: Lake is full as full can be, which is good but need to wait until the temp rises.

Report: went out today and a couple other times that i was to lazy to post.started off on the south side cranking rapalas and jensens for a while and grabbin the jig here and there for the thicker brush dwellers didnt get bit.switched up to deeper water 8' to 15' draggin beavers with occasional lift and drops subtle tick couple pounds.buddy got couple on split shot rig with blk blue maveriks and blk blue beaver.(hemotoma)for me.other anglers have had success with fish up to 9.375 pounds with quite a few 6 and 7 pounders..
Tips: ive had tougher days lately.try to stick with reaction type baits for the nicer fish.anglers have been catching fish on a wide variety of techniques and baits.some guys have been doing decent on tules, for me its been wood.this fall and winter should be great. seems its getting healthy lots of craws an bait this year.any one going ill see ya there on monday.good luck @ catch and release. p.s fountain grove can be thinned a tad of throw in a truckload of vitamin t.maybe the trout might eat the bass instead?lol.fishing is a contradiction.

Report: So a few weeks ago, this lake was at 73 degrees and now all the way down to 63. The lake has also lowered very quickly, so rain is needed. Most of the fish are schooled in the deep holes but I did find one keeper off a point but that was my only bite and fish for the day. Again, better than working.
Tips: Crank Away!!!

Report: Went out around noon, just walking around lake. First fish was a fat little guy off the lifeguard dock (What I call the "U" dock) no bigger than 9 or 10 inches, but pretty chubby. Caught it on a texas rigged 7" MM Roboworm. Then long casted a chartreuse "tail-spinner" towards the rental boat "pilings" with a steady-fast retrieve and hooked a nice 2.5-3.5 pounder that kicked off the crappy treble hook about a foot from shore and swam off. I followed that with it's baby that was barely big enough to eat the bait. The guy next to me was fly fishing and pulling in crappie after crappie, starting the fly about 10 feet off the shore in the sun and working it back to the shade; he would get the bite shortly after the fly passed from sun to shade.
Tips: First off, get on the water if you can... Otherwise look for structure with access to deepish water and that provides shade (docks, over hanging limbs/bushes, etc). Try to cast under it or just on the outside. PS: I have an 11 ft inflatable raft (with floor boards, and soon to have a trolling motor) and I am looking for new fishing partners. Send me an email and tell me a little bit about yourself if you want to go fishing sometime.
