  • Water Temp: 56

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Today was the first decent weather since the lake opened last fri. The water In the south end looked just like chocolate milk!! Was a lot clearer on Northern end. Fished 12-3 and only caught one on a jig. Tried a few different reaction baits and an A-Rig. Even pulled out the dropshot and couldn't get bit. Never fished the lake in Feb before. I think the fish are off shore in deeper water.

  • Water Temp: 62-65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 7-12 and caught 7. Bite has changed a lot compared to the last time I was there. Caugh the fish dropshotting and on blades. Couldn't get bit at my favorite spots. A few of the fish had 2-3 shad in their mouth and all had fat bellies!
    City: Lafayette

Tips: Usually fish weekdays and had no idea how entertaining watching some of the trout fisherman could be on a saturday. Saw multiple people arguing over how close they were to one another and others cussing people out over dumb stuff!! The white trash were out in force

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013

  • Water Temp: 64-66

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 10:45-2:30 and the bite was great. Caught all fish on reaction baits from 5-15 ft deep.. Biggest fish was a little over 3 and a half. Can't wait to go back
    City: Lafayette

Tips: Carp are spawning everywhere. If you find the carp you won't catch any bass

    Water Temp: 56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the day after opening. Fishing was terrible. Trouser trout fishermen posted up on all the main lake points. Couldn't make the casts that would have caught the fish. I fish this lake at least 4 times a month. This is the worst it's been in the last 6 years. Threw everything in the boat at em! Cranks, Jerks, Jigs, swimbaits, dropshot....only bite I got was dropshotting a 6 inch senko. If you're thinking about going out here don't! Stay home until april when the water temp starts to heat up. I did hear people talking about a blue and white Nitro out there on opening day slaying em? Couple guys said they saw him hucking 5 lb spots outta his livewell at the end of the day.....After my experience I think they're full of it. I usually boat at least 10 spots each outing...it's just terrible right now.
    City: dublin

Tips: Stay home until the water temp warms up. If you see a Z8 blue and yellow nitro out there with a 250 on the back watch out! He almost ran me over!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Splashed the tube with bro and friend from 11-5. Slow day overall but I did get a 4.5 lb. spot and a 3 lb. spot. Lost a big catfish and one bass not sure of the species. The bass and catfish all came on a crankbait in the preserve. Low water left all of the good cover high and dry. 67% is not enough for this place. Water is dirtier the further back you go in the preserve. Didn't get much on the deeper banks across from the south ramp.
    City: Concord

Tips: Bomber crankbait 4A Dark green crawdad. Senko got one bass for my friend.

Report: Bass fishing here is DEAD slow right now - don;t waste your time here. I fish this lake on the regular, and the fishing is pretty terrible - too cold, WAY too much boat traffic from trout fisherman. Been fishing Lake Chabot (I mean the Hayward one, not the pond in Vallejo)and doing well since it warmed up some - thats a better option right now.

Report: rite on glad to see others post. Fishing here is gona be slow for a bit still even when water temp goes up they still will be dificult to get, not many fish in the lake bad managment in the fishery. Yes there are alot of big spots in here mainly because the lake was so low for so long due to dam retrofit but there is still some big largemouths here aswell. Was out on sunday got only one a 5 lb spot. I fish this lake every weekend and you will get fishon drop shots and carolina rigs but generally small fish if you want to get hawgs be quiet and fish all terrain, very your speeds not alot of bass anglers so slow isnt always best i get alot of big fish flippin and power fishn but you have to be openminded untill spring worms and shad immitations work best deep channels w shallows near by, also for best results start early fish will shut off at 11 am good luck

    Water Temp: N/A

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Didn't fish just went out to get info and prices for the year and get a feel for how the lake looks. It looks Great, water level is only 5ft from spillway, clarity is approx 2-4ft! Heard of some bass being caught and saw quite a few trout caught. Prices are reasonable not anything rediculous like they used to be!! If you plan on going quite a bit, do yourself a Huge favor and purchase an annual parking pass. It will save you $$ if you go often. Look forward to actually do some fishing this week after what I had seen today!! It looks Really Good!!
    City: Pinole

Tips: If you or anyone you know goes fishing here for the day or often Please Post a Report! I never have but decided to start doing so and try to get something going for this local Gem of a fishery!! Monster Largemouths and also Magnum Spotted Bass!! That's Right, Magnum Spotted Bass!! The spots have taken over the past few years and have turned into Mags!! 4+lbs!! Let's get an active report column goin on this place, can't be just one person doin it, gonna take lots of help! So until next time, Hope this Helps and Good Luck!!

Report: Got out with my bro in the tubes in afternoon for four spots, biggest three pounds. 5" Senko, Bomber crank in shad color. Two were dinks. All fish seem to be relating to wind blown banks and a little deeper water.
    City: Concord

Tips: Three pound spot smacked the senko on a retrieve to make another cast. Made me think, throw the crankbait.
