Hot Springs, Ark. - The Board of Directors of The Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame has announced that the fourth annual induction into the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame will be held Saturday, July 31.
For the first time, the induction ceremonies will be held in conjunction with bass fishing's world championship, the CITGO Bassmaster(r) Classic presented by Busch Beer, which will be held on Lake Wylie, near Charlotte, N.C., July 30-Aug. 1.
The 2004 inductee list includes famed bass boat designer, founder and president of Triton Boats and former speedboat world record holder Earl Bentz of Nashville, Tenn.; two-time Classic winner George Cochran of Hot Springs, Ark.; and the man who single-handedly wrote the "rule book" for professional bass tournaments, former BASS tournament director Harold Sharp of Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame will also honor former tournament great and smallmouth bass legend Billy Westmorland of Celina, Tenn., with its first posthumous induction.
"We are extremely proud that BASS has invited us to be a major part of bass fishing's biggest week," said Bill Fletcher, president of the Board of Directors of the Pro Bass Hall of Fame.
"The class of 2004 brings together both angling legends and individuals who helped shape this great sport and we look forward to honoring them in Charlotte."
The Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of bass fishing and a shrine to the men, women and companies that have taken this sport to anglers around the world.
Induction ceremonies will take place Saturday, July 31, at 7:00 p.m. in Charlotte, NC.
