DALLAS (Aug. 26, 2004) — Listen to “FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart” online or on the air this Sunday as host Keith Lebowitz is joined by FLW Outdoors Chairman Irwin L. Jacobs, along with Houston Astros outfielder and bass-fishing enthusiast Lance Berkman.
Coming off the success of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship, held earlier this month in Birmingham, Ala., Lebowitz and Jacobs will discuss the highlights of the $1.5 million event. Jacobs will also inform listeners about what’s in store for FLW Outdoors in 2005. During the upcoming 10th anniversary of the FLW Tour, anglers will be fishing for even more money, as the overall tournament purse is raised by $800,000. Lebowitz and Jacobs will discuss the importance of increased payouts in the sport, which allow more professional anglers to make a living on the water.
This week’s show will also feature a mix of baseball and bass-fishing discussions, thanks to a visit by Berkman. The Astros outfielder, who made his Major League Baseball debut in 1999, is known for hitting the longest home run in Minute Maid Park history in June 2003. But Berkman doesn’t spend all his time at the ballpark; as an avid bass angler, he also enjoys the outdoors.
