Ranger ® Boats New 1850 Reata is a “Full Utility” Fish N’ Play Boat With All the Comfort and Smooth

FLIPPIN, Ark. (October 2004) - Ranger ® Boats’ newest entry into the fishing and family recreation boat market will give traditional aluminum boat buyers plenty to think about. With a deep-V, deep-interior design, the 1850 Reata promotes the extra confidence and peace of mind of fiberglass construction while delivering a smooth, comfortable ride unmatched by aluminum counterparts.

“We liken our new 1850 Reata to an SUV because it’s so versatile. Whether a person is a weekend angler, tournament fisherman, or simply enjoys those special watersport outings with family and friends, the 1850 is built for a world of great times on the water,” Ranger Boats President Randy Hopper said. “Customers will see the same premium Ranger quality in this boat as they do in each and every boat we build. Combined with the security of upright, level flotation, our commitment to delivering the absolute highest quality, performance, and satisfaction makes the 1850 Reata one of the all-time best values anywhere.”

Inside, the 1850 Reata provides abundant seating, along with ample storage and fishable space. The wide open interior not only allows occupants to stretch out and relax, but offers quick, easy movement from bow to stern… an important feature when working big fish around the boat. Four all-weather folding seats are located between the console and stern, and are positioned to provide plenty of arm- and legroom. Driver and forward passenger seats are equipped with adjustable fore/aft slides while the two seats located just behind the driver and passenger can be removed and placed in the front and rear fishing positions. A convertible table for the cockpit is also available. Looking aft, a pair of jump seats folds down when not in use, adding more fishing deck space to the stern.

Up front, three oversized storage compartments provide an abundance of room for rods, skis, and other gear. Special tube-designed organizers keep rods secure and easy to access while an integrated tackle storage system eliminates the hassle of tackleboxes underfoot. Utilizing virtually every inch of usable space, the 1850 also incorporates more storage into the sides and rear of the boat. For the recreationally-minded, the forward deck is designed to include the snap-in comfort of front lounge cushions. Also up front, a folding deck extension expands to provide a wide, unencumbered fishing deck and retracts out of the way when not in use. As an added bonus and further evidence of the 1850’s versatility, the snap-in floor carpet can be easily removed and stored.

Rating for a maximum of 175 horses, the 1850 is equipped with the comfort and convenience of a walk-through windshield as well as Garmin electronics and a host of performance instrumentation, including speed, tach, fuel, trim, and water pressure gauges. Unlike most other fiberglass boats in the “fish n’ play” class, the 1850 Reata will accept a kicker motor for trolling on large bodies of water. Also for the angler, a remote baitwell is positioned on the front deck while a recirculating aerated livewell/baitwell with filter screens and automatic timer is located at the rear.

“From the solid structural feel and responsive handling traits to the overall fit, finish, and attention to detail, there are a lot of advantages in the way we build our fiberglass boats,” said Hopper. “It’s easy to see those differences when you get on the water. Our exclusive pultruded fiberglass transom, stringer system, and trademarked Rite-Track Keel are specifically engineered to help take the pounding out of rough water while delivering a highly maneuverable and extremely stable fishing platform. Greater durability, stronger resale values, and consistently higher owner satisfaction are all followed up with our Best Built-Best Backed™ warranty. Even the excellent weight ratio of fiberglass leaves aluminum with no advantage. The easily-towed 1850 is designed to stay light on its feet whether it’s in the water or on the road.”

Trailer features on the NMMA certified 1850 Reata are equally impressive. Up front, an innovative swing jack is located at the center of the frame. Retracting flush to the trailer frame, the new position allows the stand to support a more balanced load, making the rig easier to move and more secure on the trailer. Using the enhanced performance of racing technology, Ranger has also adopted the use of aluminum brake calipers in conjunction with the hydraulic surge brakes. This system benefits from extremely low heat transfer, resulting in even greater reliability and added peace of mind. According to Ranger officials, these exclusive features join a number of other Ranger firsts including their exclusive Road Armor™ ‘tough-as-nails’ trailer finish, oil bath C.O.O.L hubs, matching fiberglass fenders, swing-away tongue, and more.

Other key features on the 1850 Reata include pultruded fiberglass transom, Sirius satellite capable marine stereo system, stowable stainless steel boarding ladder, a 1,000 GPH bilge pump, gas spring lid assists and insulated cooler.
