HAWAIIAN PUNCH ADDS PROFESSIONAL ANGLING TEAM TO SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 8, 2004) — Hawaiian Punch – the gold standard of fruit punch drinks – announced Wednesday that Robert Pearson will fish as a member of its professional angling team set to compete in FLW Outdoors tournaments in 2005.

Last month, Hawaiian Punch announced its partnership with FLW Outdoors, the world’s leading marketer of competitive fishing. Through the partnership, Pearson will compete along various FLW Outdoors tournament trails from a Hawaiian Punch-branded Ranger boat.

Hawaiian Punch joined the FLW Outdoors sponsorship team on Nov. 9 and will market itself in the upcoming tournament season to the nation’s fishing enthusiasts who are known for their loyalty to FLW Outdoors sponsor products.

Pearson, an Oak Hill, Va., native and FLW Outdoors tournament competitor since 1998, will participate on the Wal-Mart FLW Tour and in the EverStart Series Eastern Division. Pearson has been fishing for more than 30 years and remains actively involved in his community, introducing the next generation of anglers to the sport he loves.

“Great sponsors like Hawaiian Punch allow anglers to make fishing a viable career,” Pearson said. “I am really looking forward to representing Hawaiian Punch both on the water and by interacting with fans at the Family Fun Zone.”

Hawaiian Punch is one of many top-shelf brands giving its support to the family-oriented sport of fishing, helping to catapult professional fishing into the American mainstream.

“We were extremely pleased with Robert’s dedication to the 7 UP team and to Wal-Mart customers,” said Derek Dodge, vice president of sales for national accounts at Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages. “We feel confident that he will introduce the same level of visibility to Hawaiian Punch and become actively involved along the FLW Outdoors tournament trails.”

The Hawaiian Punch brand will be visible on the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, EverStart Series, Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League, Wal-Mart Texas Tournament Trail, Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour and Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League.

“We’re extremely excited that Hawaiian Punch has joined our sponsorship program. By utilizing a passionate angler such as Pearson, Hawaiian Punch will effectively communicate to the more than 52 million people who fish each year,” said Bill Petrowiak, vice president of marketing for FLW Outdoors.
