MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 13, 2004) — FLW Outdoors announced Monday that Oh Boy! Oberto® Beef Jerky, maker of America’s No. 1 favorite jerky, will be a core sponsor of the new Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series. Oh Boy! Oberto has been making high-quality meat snacks for more than 85 years and is a recognizable name on a long list of companies that sponsor FLW Outdoors, the world’s leading marketer of competitive fishing.

“Have Fun!” – the company slogan for more than 50 years – exemplifies the experience people have while they enjoy America’s No. 1 favorite jerky. Through its sponsorship, Oh Boy! Oberto will have the opportunity to connect with more than 52 million anglers in the United States. As a core sponsor, Oh Boy! Oberto Beef Jerky will be a visible component of the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series as well as the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, EverStart Series, Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League, Wal-Mart Texas Tournament Trail, Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour and Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League.

In August, FLW Outdoors announced it would enter into the world of saltwater angling with the additions of the Wal-Mart FLW Kingfish Tour and the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series to its list of competitive fishing circuits. The new FLW Redfish Series, set to kick off in March 2005, aims to meet the demand and grow the market for competitive redfish angling, making the sport bigger and better than ever before.

The tournament trail boasts an unprecedented $1.9 million cash purse and will consist of two divisions – East and West. Each division will have four events in the 2005 season. The eight qualifying tournaments are two-day team events, each sporting a $200,000 purse. The season concludes with the no-entry-fee $300,000 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series Championship.
