'WAL-MART FLW OUTDOORS' TV AIRS JUNE 10-11 WAL-MART FLW KINGFISH TOUR EVENT FROM VENICE

MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 12, 2005) - Tune in Sunday to "Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors" on FSN for the $300,000 Wal-Mart FLW Kingfish Tour event held in Venice, La., June 10-11. The second event of the most lucrative kingfish tournament trail in the country concludes with the winning team claiming a cash prize of $100,000.

The "Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors" saltwater series is a reality-format show told from the anglers' perspective. Each week the top-four teams are followed from takeoff to weigh-in, allowing the audience to feel the anglers' nerves, listen to their strategy, and learn from their mistakes. The stories evolve and the suspense grows throughout the one-hour show until the final weigh-in results are announced.

FLW Kingfish Tour events are two-day tournaments with the heaviest kingfish determining the winner, but with the approach of Tropical Storm Arlene, tournament officials elected to cancel the final day of competition at the Venice event held in early June.

The Sunday, Sept. 19, show follows Team Cat Daddy, who claimed victory in the inaugural FLW Kingfish Tour event in Fort Pierce, Fla. Now returning to their own backyard of Louisiana, this team ties into several hefty smokers, one of which strips out 870 feet of line on a single run.

FSN also follows Hilton Head, S.C., native Dan Gourley, who at age 17 is the youngest captain on tour. His team, Captain Dan, which consists of Gourley, his parents Charles and Sheri Getsinger, as well as Tommy Strozzo, made a strong name for themselves by placing second in the Fort Pierce event. This time around, Captain Dan is able to muster another impressive catch and heads to the scale with confidence.

Sticking it out as long as possible while the weather worsens is Hannon's Cannon. As the team debates the risk of losing the tournament versus fishing in perilous conditions, they opt to stay on the water. Their perseverance eventually pays off as they land an enormous king mackerel that weighs nearly 50 pounds.

FSN broadcasts "Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors" Sundays from 11 a.m. to noon ET. Check local listings for show times and channels in your area.
