CELEBRATION, Fla. – Bassmaster University, a series of classes teaching the foundations of professional angling, has released its 2006 spring schedule. From Florida to California, the program offers accelerated courses for bass anglers of any skill level.
Bassmaster University courses are taught by anglers who specialize in particular techniques and tactics, including 2006 CITGO Bassmaster Elite Series anglers Kevin VanDam, Mike Iaconelli, Shaw Grigsby, Zell Rowland, Terry Scroggins, Denny Brauer and Mark Menendez.
The spring schedule offers two course levels to interested anglers, the Bassmaster University and the Bassmaster University Master Series. Bassmaster University, the cornerstone course, has been utilized by anglers of all skill levels for more than 30 years, while the Master Series offers a more in-depth course for advanced anglers.
“Our cornerstone course, Bassmaster University, will maximize the interest of bass anglers and offer new opportunities and class formats for all anglers who want to hone their skills and learn directly from the pros,” said Gary Jones, BASS’ director of the Federation Nation and Angler Relations. “These sessions have an extremely strong pool of instructors, and we’re excited about the ability to reach more bass fishing enthusiasts.”
The cost of each class varies, but spouses and children younger than 16 always receive a 25 percent discount when attending with a full-paying participant. Plus, each enrollment includes a $50 merchandise pack and a 15 percent off coupon for Bass Pro Shops (some restrictions apply). Discounts for BASS and BASS INSIDER members are available.
