Thomas/Peungate win National Bass West Delta Opener

Bethel Island, Ca - National Bass West held it's first tournament of the season today leaving out of Russo's Marina. 25 teams braved the cold (and it was cold) and rain to fish for some of the best payouts on the West Coast.

The bite had picked up last week during the warmer weather but really slowed down as the storm front went through making the fishing a lot slower.

The top weights were within ounces of each other with Dee Thomas and Bill Peungate squeezing out the win by .13 of a pound! Fishing Senkos on a very slow bite, Thomas and Peungate managed a 22.95# limit anchored by a 7.13# 2nd big fish. Their efforts netted them $2225. Jim Stich and Dan Fonte were right on their heels with 22.82# with John and Lorenzo Rossetti tucked in tight in 3rd with 22.74# and first big fish.

I would like to thank Hook Line and Sinker, Extreme Outdoorsman, Chuck Russo and his crew for all of their help as well as Jeff DeJesus and Tom Floyd, Tony Stoltz and Andy Cuccia for their help. Cooch grills a mean hot dog. Thanks to Cal and Kathy Tatum for their help on the microphone and stats.

If you would like to come out and try for some of the best payouts on the West Coast join us at the next event in April at Ladd's Marina in Stockton. Due to a conflict in the schedule we have moved the March 5th tournament to a date to be announced later.
