Future Pro Tour kids division is back for 2006

NOTHING compares to the satisfying grin a kid gets on his or her face when they look into a dark, cool livewell and see a suspended bass – a bass that they had a big part in helping get there. Often times, just one fish is all it takes to change the tempo of their day and keep them actively interested in bass fishing.

The Future Pro Tour has a division that is designed to keep a young anglers enthusiasm about fishing – especially bass fishing, at a high level while at the same time promoting the concept of teamwork within a competitive environment. The “Future” Future Pro division, which was started at the FPT's inception, does just that and has over the past 3 years, been an integral part of the FPT's mission statement – “A great place to learn”.

A youth is automatically registered in the “Future” Future Pro division if they are 16 years old or under. They fish with their adult partner for cash and prizes in the regular FPT competition, while at the same time competing against other young anglers registered as “Future” Future Pros. The top two FFP (“Future” Future Pro) anglers with the highest weight at the end of the event, win 1 st and 2 nd place trophies, with first place receiving a check for their efforts!

In addition, the FFP with the highest total weight at the end of the year receives special recognition at the year-end Future Pro Tour Classic banquet, a FFP Angler of the Year trophy, along with a guided trip for both team members on the California Delta, courtesy of top delta guide Andy Cuccia and Cooch's Guide Service.

The FFP division is sponsored by Boden Construction, who has sponsored this division for the past 2 years and who's president, Norm Boden, has seen the inspiration it has given to his own son Lucas. Consistent with his sincere feelings regarding the importance of positive recreational outlets for young people, Norm is continuing to sponsor this division even though son Lucas (2005 co-angler of the year and now seventeen) is no longer eligible to participate. We sincerely thank Norm and Boden Construction for their commitment to our young anglers.

So don't wait!…You still have time to sign up with you son, daughter, or any other youngster that loves to fish and get them into the season opener at Lake Berryessa on March 18th .

No matter what….they are sure to have the time of their lives.

See you there!
