Help for FPT Millerton event at West Marine this Friday

FRESNO, Ca. - Its crunch time for many of the central valley anglers sitting near, on, or just outside the 2007 Future Pro Tour Classic “qualifying bubble”, where invitational berths for the prestigious championship event to be held next month on Lake Oroville are at stake.

And this Saturday at Millerton Lake , the 2007 FPT season for the central valley will come to a close, punctuated by a challenging venue that will offer a tough bite, and a low-water condition wildcard thrown in just for fun.

But just like in the 2005 Bassmaster Classic where the best anglers in the world could not manage to crack the 13 pound mark – for 3 days of fishing, the anglers that triumph in this event will not do so based on how good the fishing is, or is not. For the winners of this event, as it is in all fishing competitions, will be determined based on how well they apply their angling knowledge, and how well they adapt to the adverse conditions at hand – in relation to the rest of the field.

And to help those anglers that need help with how to pattern bass on Lake Millerton for this event, the FPT will host an optional pre-registration seminar this Friday from 4-7pm, featuring one of its pro-support staffers and of the best pro anglers in the central valley. Jeff Huth, Ranger Boats/Mercury Outboards, pro-staffer who also manages the very popular Valley Rod and Gun tackle store in Clovis, will join us at the West Marine store in Fresno (off Shaw Ave), to provide extremely helpful information about fishing Lake Millerton in the fall, and will provide one-on-one help for anyone that needs it. Jeff fishes many of the major events that come to the west including the FLW Series events, and is well-versed in all of the techniques needed to be successful on Millerton Lake.

So come join us – even if you are not fishing Saturday's event, and get some good information about Millerton as well as some great values on boating, electronic and fishing gear at West Marine.

Those that register for the event at the seminar will not be assessed a late fee for Saturday's event, and late signups will be taken at the Millerton Lake ramp the morning of the event from 4-6am.

Also…for those of you that have never fished a FPT event, and want to get in on the fun, per-event memberships will be available for just $5 per angler…so come on out and join in on all the fun as we close out a great 2007 season!

See you all there!
