Lake Amistad to Host Wal-Mart FLW Series Fish-off FEb. 7-9

DEL RIO, Texas. (Oct. 27, 2007) – FLW Outdoors announced today that Lake Amistad in Del Rio, Texas, will host the Wal-Mart FLW Series Fish-Off scheduled for Feb. 7-9, 2008.

The top 30 pros and top 30 co-anglers from each 2007 FLW Series Division will be invited to the Fish-Off, where the pros will compete head-to-head for three days to determine who will advance to the 2008 Forrest Wood Cup for a shot at winning the sport’s biggest award – $1 million. The No. 1 BP Eastern Division pro will face the No. 30 National Guard Western Division pro and the No. 1 Western Division pro will face the No. 30 Eastern Division pro, etc. The top 30 co-anglers based on accumulated weight at the Fish-Off and the winners of the head-to-head match-ups will proceed to the Forrest Wood Cup. The pro with the heaviest overall weight will also earn $25,000, and the co-angler with the heaviest overall weight will earn $5,000.

Anglers will launch from Lake Amistad Marina located off Highway 90 W. in Del Rio at 7 each morning and weigh in at the marina each afternoon at 3. Registration for the tournament will be held at the Del Rio Civic Center, located at 1915 Veterans Blvd. in Del Rio, on Feb. 6 from 5 to 6 p.m.

The tournament, hosted by the Del Rio Chamber of Commerce, will be broadcast to 81 million FSN (Fox Sports Net) subscribers in the United States as part of the “FLW Outdoors” program airing Sunday mornings at 11 Eastern time. “FLW Outdoors” is also broadcast in Canada on WFN (World Fishing Network) and to more than 429 million households in the United Kingdom, Europe, Russia, Australia, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East through Matchroom Sport, making it the most widely distributed fishing program in the world.
