FPT Central valley anglers get ready for Mc Clure this Saturday!

ROCKLIN Ca. - After last month's exciting central valley opener on Don Pedro, the Future Pro Tour is ready to go again this Saturday, April 5th, bringing its 2nd event of the season to beautiful Lake McClure, located just a few short miles east of Don Pedro reservoir.

And with all the reports this spring about the outstanding spotted bass bite, the central valley's anglers could be in for some big fun. “Numbers are what's happening right now”, noted Ranger Pro Jeff Huth of Clovis California. Jigs, darterheads, and Senkos are what's neeed to get a good limit...but if you want to win, you will probably need a big fish, so don't forget about the Swimbaits”, he hastily added.

Leading the pack early in the race for anglers of the year are newcomers Brian Stricker and Kurt Robinson, who are hoping to keep the rest of field at a distance with a solid performance in this next event. “It was great to win Pedro but, we have to put that behind us and concentrate on this next event if we hope to do well", said this dynamic team from Fresno California.

Not only are the Angler of the Year titles on the line for anglers participating in this region, but also at stake are berths into the 2008 Future Pro Tour Classic, to be held this November (at a venue to be announced) where qualifiers will compete for a new fully-rigged Ranger 188vs with Evinrude Outboard, and Minn Kota/Humminbird electronics.

For those of you that don't know, The Future Pro tour is an all-amateur level circuit that offers a great opportunity to learn the basics of competitive bass fishing, meet lots of great people, and just have fun. Its goal simply put, is to provide a venue in which entry and amateur level anglers can improve on their bass fishing skills in a friendly yet competitive environment. Requiring only a nominal entry fee, participants are encouraged to share information, and be part of making our events a fun experience for all.

And for those of you that want to try out the Future Pro Tour and want to fish this event… you still have time to get in! Come down to C&C Marine in Modesto on Friday, April 4th , from 4:00 to 7:00pm for our optional pre-registration seminar and we'll get you signed up! One of the central valley's top bass pros will be sharing his secrets on how to catch springtime bass on Lake McClure, and we will offer refreshments, and host a FREE raffle for great prizes, including a new Minn Kota on-board battery charger valued at over $200.

For those that cannot make this optional seminar, you can still sign up the morning of the event at the lake (the store at Bartlett 's Cove - North ramp) from 4am-6:30am. A per-event membership fee of only $5 per person will be available.....so what are you waiting for?...come on down and join in on the fun!

Hope to see you all there!
