SACRAMENTO, Ca – He's an innovator, an entrepreneur, and a forward thinking business man that just happens to like to bass fish. And, as a multiple winner of one of his industries highest international awards – the 2007 Independent Retail of the Year award, you would think that he would not have time to fish a year-long circuit let alone support youth the way he does. But with this guy, helping others achieve is just his way.
And this guy - Skip Maggoria, founder/president of SKIP'S MUSIC, a three chain music store with an array of inventory that must be seen to be believed, is at it again, helping to build our youth's confidence and taking an active role in seeing they get the opportunity to expand their horizons through the continuation of the Future Pro Tour/SKIP'S MUSIC “Rock N' Rods” program that was started for our youth division last year.
Last year's program gave all “Future" Future Pro anglers (any angler 16 years and under) a chance to win a fully-rigged IBANEZ lead guitar (customized in FPT blue) complete with case, amps and private music lessons valued at $1,800 dollars. Each time a FFP angler would enter a FPT event throughout the year, their name would be entered into a drawing for the grand prize, which was held at the 2007 Future Pro Tour Classic celebration dinner. The more events a youth entered the more chances they had to win the guitar package.
And for 2008, SKIP'S MUSIC has enhanced this package for FFP anglers in an unbelievable way by presenting this year's “Rock N' Rods” winner with the instrument package of their choice!
That's right…this year's winner will get to choose from one of the following fantastic instrument packages courtesy of SKIP'S MUSIC:
• An IBANEZ RG350DX guitar with stand, strap, case, pics, instructional DVD plus free strings for a year!
• A Yamaha PSR S-500 Keyboard, with stand, benchM2X headphones, and instructional DVD!
• A Drum Zone 5pc drum set, with hardware & cymbals, throne, stick bags, cymbal polish, instructional DVD, plus free sticks for a year!
• A Yamaha Alto Sax, Q Class – Case, strap and instructional DVD
What a package for some lucky young angler to win! It is said that music is the universal language. And in the same way a young person's life can be affected - for the positive by learning to fish, the same life altering experience can also take place when they are exposed to the wonderful world of music.
All "Future" Future Pro anglers names have been placed in the drawing barrel and the winner will be picked at the 2008 FPT Classic celebration dinner this Friday!
