SACRAMENTO, Ca – He’s an innovator, an entrepreneur, and a forward thinking business man that just happens to like to bass fish. And, as a multiple winner of one of his industries highest international awards – the 2007 Independent Retailer of the Year award, you would think that he would not have time to fish a year-long circuit let alone support youth the way he does, but with him, helping others achieve is just his way.
And Skip Maggoria, founder/president of SKIP’S MUSIC, a four chain music store with an array of inventory that must be seen to be believed, is at it again, helping to build our youth’s confidence and taking an active role in seeing they get the opportunity to expand their horizons through the continuation of the Future Pro Tour/SKIP’S MUSIC “Rock N’ Rods” program that was started for our youth division two years ago.
Last year’s program gave all “Future" Future Pro anglers (any angler 16 years and under) a chance to win the instrument package of their choice. And central valley "Future" Future Pro angler Jared Cook, won the grand prize and got to choose from one of the following fantastic instrument packages (worth appx $1,500) courtesy of SKIP’S MUSIC:
• An IBANEZ RG350DX guitar with stand, strap, case, pics, instructional DVD plus free strings for a year!
• A Yamaha PSR S-500 Keyboard, with stand, benchM2X headphones, and instructional DVD!
• A Drum Zone 5pc drum set, with hardware & cymbals, throne, stick bags, cymbal polish, instructional DVD, plus free sticks for a year!
• A Yamaha Alto Sax, Q Class – Case, strap and instructional DVD
Now that's a package worthy of our young anglers! Music is said to be the universal language, and in the same way a young person’s life can be affected - for the positive by learning to fish, the same life altering experience can take place by when a youth is exposed to the world of music.
All that is required to be part of the "Rock N' Rods" program, is that you let our membership services person know that your son or daughter is a "Future" Future Pro when you check-in at any Future Pro Tour event. We will credit them with three entry tickets into the drawing for the grand prize which will be held at the 2009 FPT Classic celebration dinner on November 6th.
BUT HOLD ON....There are now THREE ways for youth to win the 'Rock N' Rods'package!
Visit any of the three SKIP'S Music locations, put your youth's name in the desiginated 'Rock N'Rods' promotion box, and they will receive three additional entry tickets thereby increasing their chance to win!
All youth's that like to fish can participate - even those that don't fish FPT event's. Simply put their name, address, phone # & email on a piece of paper, list the body of water they like to fish for bass, and they too will receive three entries tickets in the drawing! Youth need not be present at the drawing to win.
