DBT & Wounded Warriors Team Up

Delta Bass Tactics fishing club held our first annual Wounded Warriors fishing tournament and Thank A Vet Day at Whiskey Slough Marina on Hwy 4 on Saturday, Aug 15. The event was held to thank wounded soldiers and veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns for their service to our country. Several other clubs also participated in order to provide enough boats for the event. In the tournament, Vets were each teamed with a bass angler as fishing partners for the day. At the end of the six hour fishing period, fish from each team were weighed in to determine the winners, and then the fish were released alive. A barbecue and raffle followed the event. Participants were provided with tackle packs and snacks for the fishing period. After weigh-in, participants were each provided with special commemorative tee shirts. A free raffle was conducted and winning Vets won many fishing and apparel items.

The work was carried out by DBT wives and club members. Many businesses and individuals donated money, food, and other give away and raffle fishing tackle and apparel items from Bassaholics, Black Dog baits, Ferguson.
