2010 NAVIONICS Cup title - A Lake Camanche Showdown

IONE, Ca. – In what looks like it will have all of the drama of an O.K. Corral gunfight or a face-off between a pair of gunslingers at high-noon, two teams are now situated in a virtual lock for the 2010 NAVIONICS Cup title, with ground zero being beautiful Lake Camanche - the last stop of the year for Future Pro Tour anglers fishing in the central valley region.

“Were trying not to let our nerves get the best of us”, noted Travis Huckaby a veteran FPT competitor that fishes with new comer Benny Broom of Modesto, and currently holding down 2nd place in the 2010 NAVIONICS Cup standings. Winning this NAVIONICS Cup title would mean everything to us because it will help to validate all of the hard work we have put in this year…plus receiving all of the “perks” that come with winning the promotional sponsorship will help us tremendously next year”.

But before any “perks” are handed out to Travis, Benny or any other team lurking in contention for the NAVIONICS Cup title, they must first solve the puzzle of how to get past two of the most fierce competitors that fish the FPT’s central valley region namely the team of Flores and Marshall. And placing in the top-ten four times throughout the year, don’t think for one minute that this pair of aggressive competitors currently sitting at the 1st place spot in the points race, will be “rolling over” for anybody, as Flores, who was spotted “eyeballing” weights and gathering as many bits of data as he could from the northern anglers fishing in their final event last week on Lake Camanche, is obviously leaving no stone unturned in his team’s quest for the coveted NAVIONICS title.

“Bring it on…we will be ready”, noted Flores in a stoic tone, ominously sporting dark sunglasses and looking like he was ready for the central valley’s NAVIONICS Cup race to begin right then and there. We love the competitive spirit that this race has brought out in everyone, and can’t wait for this weekend’s event to begin”.

NAVIONICS Corporation is the world leader in electronic mapping charts and technology, with a strict focus on providing the highest quality mapping technology for nautical applications to its end users. This focus on excellence and the subsequent high-quality products they provide for today’s anglers, has literally “changed the game” for those that fish on a competitive level.

The NAVIONICS Cup is a special award that seeks to recognize and reward those Future Pro Tour anglers that carry with them that same focus and determination to be the best, as winners of the Cup in both the north and central regions receive an official placement on the NAVIONICS promotional team, custom NAVIONICS tournament jerseys, NAVIONICS decal boat wrap, premium NAVIONICS mapping chip, paid entry fees into the 2011 FPT season, and a $500 fuel card to help off-set expenses.

So the stage has been set for an exciting showdown and “Race for the Cup” as the Thunder Valley Outdoors/Future Pro Tour travels to Lake Camanche to determine which team will be our newest NAVIONICS Cup champions representing the central valley region.
