ICAST 2013: Four in a row for Koppers

Koppers Fishing and Tackle Corporation won its fourth lure award in a row at ICAST with a radical new series. The design has been inspired by the schooling formation of baitfish being ambushed by a predator – and has spawned an entirely new brand called BaitBall. Koppers, which is already well known for its family of life-like LIVETARGET lures, says that BaitBall is a sub-brand of LIVETARGET and has been in development for more than four years. It adds: “Precision and expertise are critical to the actions, size and multi-fish patterns that have been designed into each BaitBall lure. “Radical and revolutionary, yet built on the core foundation of Mother Nature’s own balance of fish survival and feeding habits, the new BaitBall unleashes the ingenuity of LIVETARGET’s lure design and industry-leading capabilities to deliver a series of lures unlike anything developed before.” Koppers lead designer Tobias Wiegand says: “Many of the hardbaits in today’s market replicate a single baitfish. However, game fish actually perceive many lures as a small group of baitfish and not just a single, isolated bait. “It really is about profile. The cubic mass of a large crankbait more clearly resembles a small group of three to five baitfish rather than one large and disproportioned baitfish. By clearly understanding how game fish forage on schooling baitfish, the angler’s perception of a typical lure will evolve.” The new lures are available in both freshwater and saltwater versions and include poppers, jerkbaits and crankbaits. Product will be delivered to wholesalers and channel partners in Q4, 2013, along with merchandising and promotional programmes to support the launch. - See more at: http://www.angling-international.com/icast-2013-four-in-a-row-for-koppers/#sthash.FRlTwxG9.dpuf
