Sea Tow Sponsors Bass Angler Eddie Ingram

Southold, N.Y. - Sea Tow Services International Inc., the nation's leading on-water assistance provider, is proud to announce its sponsorship of bass fisherman Eddie Ingram of Webb, Alabama. Ingram, 54, competes on the Walmart FLW Tour, the Alabama Bass Trail and many other tournament series. He will fish in more than 200 tournaments this season.

"I have been working my entire life toward this-when I wasn't working, I was fishing," said Ingram, who retired last spring as police chief of Summerdale, Ala. "I will fish anywhere the prize money is up there ($15,000 or more for first place) and where there are the most boats. Some tournaments have 500 boats entered."

Ingram learned about Sea Tow two years ago when his son and two friends were deep-sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City, Fla. Their boat broke down 35 miles offshore. Due to the distance and the fact that they were not Sea Tow members, the tow was expensive. "If I had Sea Tow for my boat when we broke down, the tow would have been free," Ingram said.

"I had heard about Sea Tow but didn't know much about it," he continued. "Then I thought other people might not know about Sea Tow and how it can help fisherman. That's what got me interested in the Sea Tow product and getting the word out."

Ingram learned more about how Sea Tow helps boaters and anglers on freshwater lakes during a meeting with Capt. Lee Padgett at Sea Tow Lake Eufaula. "Lee found out that I fished every day, and showed me what Sea Tow offers," Ingram said. "To me it was stupid not to become a member, whether you fish once a month or every day. Now everyone in my family has a membership."

Eddie Ingram Vehicle and Boat 2Ingram, who has six children, competes in a 2013 Ranger Z520C, a 21-foot bass boat that runs 76 mph powered by a 250-hp Mercury OptiMax Pro XS outboard engine. His tow vehicle and boat are wrapped in eye-catching Sea Tow black and yellow. Most of the tournaments are doubles events, and Ingram rotates his fishing partners among four people, including one of his sons, Jesse.

"I fish in every tournament and then my fishing partners fill in when they can," said Ingram, who has caught 16 bass over 10 pounds, including the largest at 15 pounds, 8 ounces. "My goal is to make the Bassmaster Classic in 2016. I'm working my way up. I have fished my whole life, and won tournaments in the 1980s and 1990s, but then I had to work to support my family. Now I'm ready to fish full time."

In addition to Sea Tow, Ingram is sponsored by Crabby Bass Lures, Fish On clothing, Rickey Stokes News out of Dothan, Ala., Sea Insure and Humminbird Trolling Motors.
