Registration for the 2015 Collegiate Bass Fishing Open to Open on January 28

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - On January 28, 2015, collegiate anglers nationwide will be able to register for the second stop of the Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing Series - the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open presented by Cabela's. The event will be held on Lake Chickamauga, which has been home to several collegiate series and professional events over recent years.

The Collegiate Bass Fishing Open offers quite a diverse tournament format than most are used to. Instead of competing as a two man, one boat team, the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open is a two boat, four person team format. Anglers will be competing in a team of four anglers from each school - two anglers per boat. Each boat will be allowed to bring in three fish to weigh in, totaling six fish per team. Those schools that are only able to send one boat will still be able to compete and will be able to bring in six fish total.

"Along with the Cabela's Collegiate Big Bass Bash, the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open is what helps make the Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing Series so unique and a tournament trail that keeps these college anglers coming back year after year" said the Director of the Collegiate Series and President of CarecoTV, Wade Middleton. "It's open to all college anglers, counts double towards Cabela's School of Year points, and offers college anglers a different format tournament that they don't normally get to fish."

The 2015 Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing Series consists of four nationally televised Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing tournaments, which are scheduled for the following dates:

03-13-2015 - 03-15-2015 2015 Cabela's Collegiate Big Bass Bash - Kentucky Lake
