They had yet to turn on the canal system and they were still at minimal water levels. 292 c.f.s. Drug bottom a lot. Looked like some good bass water. Probably will be this summer. It is all private on both sides. The only way to hit this water is by boat. We caught two big suckers with worms. Thats the end....

Report: A friend and I gave Brownlee a try for about 30 fish from 1.5 to 3.5 pounds. It started slow with hand poured plastics for a fish every 20 minutes. When the sun warmed the water around 11am, we started getting fish on deep crankbaits. By 1 pm, the fish were on the bank and hitting spinnerbaits and that is when we caught the best fish.

Report: I read a previous report on cl lake on 7-30-07 from a disappointed angler.Me, my brother-in-law and his cousin seemed to find fish late into the night, also scoring a few slab crappies. The fishing was kinda good so we decided to stay on the lake for the rest of the night.Come morning time as me and his cousin were throwing frogs, I had 2 blow-ups and his cousin had about 6 and landed 5 out of 6 with fish averaging about 3-4.5lbs.My brother-in-law was throwing a jig just nailing fish almost every cast.I had a pretty slow start until we hit the main part of the clake, then things just started to errupt fishing the weed lines. We had more than a 40+ fish overnighter.I think were going back friday!!!!! P.S... talk to another guy that found alot of fish using tube jigs!!

Report: Frank & I started fishing at 8:30 a.m.We launched out of Reel Inn trailer park and headed SE. It was windy and the trolling motor was working hard. No bites for first 1/2 hour. We tried spinner baits, Chatter baits & Senko's. I have had good luck fishing Yamamoto grubs 3" & 4" in the past so why not try them again. It did not take long and landed a nice 2lb. Over the next 3 hours we landed about 20 fish. Most fish went 2 to 3 lbs. I made one cast with my 8lb test 6'6" spinning rod next to some bushes near the shore. Fish bite & swirled in the water. I thought it was a 1lb'er until I pulled it closer and then it started diggin in & pulling line. I landed my biggest fish yet at 6lb 11oz! Next two biggest went 3lb lloz and 3lb 7oz. We took a lunch break from 12-1 pm and went back to same area. Wind was kicking up and battery ran out after 1 hour. We managed to boat 5 more for a total of 25 for the day. I love fishing this lake!
      City: Windsor

Tips: For us today Yamamoto grubs 3 & 4 inch in white & cinnimon with blue flakes worked the best. Used a 1/8 oz Gamagatsu jig with red hook. Just pich them near the shore line, or any weeds or cover and let it sink. Most fish hit on the fall.

Larry, I always enjoy reading your postings. They are always honest and full of good tips.

      Water Temp: 38 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out and to my suprise, i had to park in over flow parking after i got the boat off the trailer. several bass boats were there and this is mid Janurary. i have my first tournament there this spring so i thought i would get some prefishing in. got to the ramp and loaded off and took off to the first spot. find a nice school that just covered my graph in about 60 ft of water. threw a drop shot over and let it sink. i put the rod on the floor of my boat as it was sinking to light a cigg..and when i picked it up, had a 3 lbs smallie on. fished for about 20 mins and got one just over 2 lbs. those were the only to bass for the day with 2 nice perch. the narrows are frozen completely from the balls back in the bruenu arm...cant acess that part of the lake at all. all you got is the main lake and the river which i ran about 5 mile past cove arm (about a 20 mile run from air force ramp) and it had no signs of ice. cove arm was in fact covered with ice...good luck fishing...
      City: Nampa, Idaho

Tips: slow...slow..slow!!! find you a nice drop off and fish it slow. if your lure isnt in the same spot for at least 10 mins, you are doing some wrong. find some drop offs in about 40-60 and sit on it for a couple hrs, its going to pay off. use drop shot, its easier to fish in the winter!
