Report: To all you quarry lakes bass ishermen:Its not your ault that the park is raping our Lake Chabot o its very conditioned and weary bass but just be aware that now that Chabot isnt making the park any money they're letting it die.As soon as your Quarry lakes dont make a proit, the park will screw you guys too. They dont give a crap about establishing a population o bass in your lakes.Every bass in Chabot has price tag on its head and they dont give a shit how bad the ishing is.Nothin against you Quarry bass ishermen but every bass that gets dumped into your lake rom our lake is toast. You can bet some shore isherman is gonna snag it o its bed or something. This is to "DaMan" you obviously dont have clue to what your talking about.Chabot is the toughest lake in the bay area and probably in nor-cal.I'd like to see you come out and ish chabot and see where your ish are coming rom.
      City: cv

Tips: Screw the park because in the end they'll screw you one way or the other.

Report: To all concerned. The park district is selling our Bass!!!!Over the past 3 weeks biologists have been shocking Chabots bass and taking them to Quarry Lakes to be caught and EATEN.Total losses approx 30 3-5 lb bass taken out o our Supposed over loaded with bass lake. Any o you who ish Lake Chabot know i you catch 2 ish let alone get 2 bites know they are soo ull o shit. In the next week or 2 there will be a petition sent around or us ew bass ishermen to sign to stop this nonsense. Our park district is a sellout. Its all about Quarry lake now because there are not enough ish in Chabot to attract MONEY. Its all about MONEY. We have to do something about this ASAP or Chabot will DIE and become just like the skateboard park downtown

Report: Worked hard yesterday on this giant hvac unit in the s.bay,So when i arrived home, thought hell,to late to take the boat out,so cruised over to the pits as i so call the quarries. It must o been about 2:30.Begun immediately at the launch ramp to the right o the no ishing sign and anned that hole area.brought in a nice smallie, didn't have my scale on me.I guess about 1#-1&3/4#s.ALWAYS CATCH AND RELEASE.Thats the second one i've pulled out o that area."great".Moved along the shore getting a couple casts here and there, but it was a little busy out there i could imagine. So i crossed the pathway over to rainbow and casted along the ence area and moving south rom there.HAMMERED down on beatiul 3+#er smallie, one the biggest i've ever caught out there, luckily she didn't eel the hook on the irst hookset, cause she elt it the second time. What a nice ish however.continued over to the beginning o the lake your not supposed ot ish and bladed a dink largemouth.i must o throuhg that blade in the same area 6 times beore he hit,in any case, those are a ew o the many, many ish i caught at the pits.there use to be much more BASS,but when they made slopes or people to ish o o they slaughtered hundreds.silt kills everything, especally when tons is stirred up.anyways i dont have the time to run to the delta or another lake, pits are an ok spot,
      City: Fremont

Tips: depending where your starting to throw maybe a cast and retrieve bait, then i not go to sotplastics,i think now, something DARK colored, zoom junebug worm w/ribbon tale and yamamoto grubs do it or me.by the way i've never caught a 3#+smallmouth BASS at shadow clis.nor a 6#er. PRACTICE CATCH AND RELEASE SO WE ALL COULD HAVE FUN.

Report: Arrived real early for a change, got to the ramp about 5:30 and not a vehicle in the parking lot.So i was just going to launch and wait for a little bit before going out.

When i put the boat in the shad were all over even jumping out of the water so the Striper's had them cornered by the light at the ramp.Fished for a little bit for them but nothing.I left and ran down to the slide and started bass fishing.Started with a Spook and picked up two Smallmouth one 15" and one 17".

Then ran down to Bee Rock and started in the back nothing. So then ran back out to the north point outside Bee Rock and picked up 6 more. All the same size between 15" and 17" Six fish on Spook and two on Jerkbait.

By then the fog cleared lake lice woke up and i went home.Of the water about 10:30,cant wait till after next weekend we might get our lake's back.

Report: My dad and I hit the water around noon on Sunday. Fished the shore with cranks and spinerbaits w/ no success. Dad caught one ish, 2lb, on a light brown worm carolina rigged. Fished shore till 2 or 3, than gave up. We travled to the noth end o the lake to hit the crappie. We endded with 12 ish caught on shad colored cranks, I caught a 3.5lb bass, a 3lb crappie, and several in the 2.5 range. Dad caught a 5lb sqawish(trash),and several crappie, 2.5.Monday was hard the wind picked up and NO bass hit. We tried the crappie early,1 or 2 o'clock, ound one small school o three ish. We got all 3 to hit, but with only two people only landded two, both 1.5. Fished a little longer than turned inearly, about 3.
      City: Scotts Valley

Tips: All ish were at w/ eggs. Try pre-spawn patterns, and don't. Soon it will be spring!!!!!!!!! I you can't buy a bite try the the crappie. Fish the north end, trolling shad-raps or other slim, wiggling cranks in a shad color. Fish are out in deeper water try to ind the creekchannel i you can't ind it, weave through the bouys. Good Luck, or "skill" whatever you call it.
