Success
Lake Success rests at an elevation of 640 feet in the Southern Sierra foothills, 8 miles east of Porterville. Construction of the earth filled dam was completed in 1961.
The lake has a surface area of 2,450 acres with 30 miles of shoreline and holds 82,000 acre feet of water. Boating is allowed 24 hours and the summer night bass action is excellent.
Boat rentals, bait, tackle, food, and fuel are available at Success Marina located on the east side of the lake. Overnight houseboat rentals are available also from Success Marina. A well maintained campground "with hot showers" rests on the east side of the lake. The 1,400 acre wildlife area on the north west side of the lake is open for public use with hunting allowed, shotguns only, during appropriate seasons.
Lake Success is best known for the fantastic pre-spawn bass bite, as well as quality year round bass action.

Report: I went up today and the water was higher than I ever seen up there we caught 2 smallies one was about 2lbs the other was a dink. last week I went by myself and caught 4 3 dinks and 2.5lbs,funny thing is they would only hit on Black Panther Martens or Red Roostertail. While I was there some guy caught a 13lbs large mouth WOW I seen it big one. most of these were caught on the other side of the bridge.
