Perris
Lake Perris has 2,200 surface acres and is part of the California State Water Project. The lake is surrounded by rocky mountains that can tower to heights of greater then one thousand feet above the water's surface.
Alessandro Island makes for a popular boat in site, rising more then 225 feet to create an interesting perspective of the lake. Fishing for spotted and largemouth bass can be very good, but you have to go being aware that this is a very popular lake for other water sports and there is no real safe haven for people fishing. The fising can be very good from shore.
Directions: 11 miles south of Riverside on I-215. Take the Ramona Expressway to Lake Perris Drive. Procced to the entrance.
For more information, call the Visitors Center at 909-657-0676.

Report: Had a great day with Guide Pete Marino. Had a great day learning how to look for active biting fish. Pete worked really hard on putting the pattern together. Once we found the active biting fish it was game one for my cousin and brother-in-law. We caught at least 40 fish. all fish were healthy and chunky. we brought in a few 4 1/2 - 5's and the rest were all 2 - 3 1/2lbs. Pete taught me some valuable info that i will be taking back to my home waters.
we fished water from 8' all the way out to 30' |
Tips: If your looking or a good guide Pete Marino is worth it! |

Report: Took out my new boat and the fishing was not bad at all. The Bass action was not bad as usual used purple and silver worms with no weight and did well cought 11 and 9 were keepers our largest was 4.7lbs. For thoses of you who like Carp fishing the guy next to us was pulling in 30-50lbs carp one after another feeding in the bass beds about 2-8ft deep behind the small island in the south east corner of the lake. Talked to a hand full of fishermen between the large island and the small island and the blue gill were bitting well. |
Tips: Use rubber worms or live bait!!! I love my jigs and rattle traps but they are not working right now... Also get there early in the morning or late in the afternoon...Zero action in the middle of the day... |
