The trees in south fork held the fish just have to get the right set of trees. Engineer point seemed to help us in the last hr. Cranking and dropshot. Worms are the ticket and a few crank bites. Report: Had a Great time at lake Isabella started to throw a Lunker Plunker around the points and scored a chucky 3-4 pound bass. I later broke out a River 2 Sea S-waver and hammered a couple of bass off a point. I lost about a 8 pounder on the s-wave. I most say the crappie fishing is off the hook. I will be back as they say, want to get the one that got away. tight lines,

    Water Temp: 75-80

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Well this is 1 lake that needs more info, so here we go.The son And I had a club tourny (33 boats),(6hrs),and (103 degrees).I was the gate and did not prefish so had to go off of history. That being said since 32 other boats went before me, my choices where limited. I ran to the North fork on the long wall to the left just before the Marina and stared crankin and top water about 15min I got a huge blow up on my Zara and missed, threw back and missed again, one more time and hooked up just to lose it at the boat and get a good look at it(solid 4 lbr). Then I got to watch a club member set the hook and fight a 11 lbr and get it in the boat. So I knew I was in a good spot and stayed there for about 2 hrs I got 2 fish from there(3 1/2 & 1 1/2). The place was loaded with shad and the fish were coming out of the flume to the flat to feed, but I couldn't wait so I ran around crying. I finally ended up at 3 rocks area and my son put another 2 fish (3 1/2 & 2)in the boat and I graphed fish in 10 feet threw a drop shot an stuck 3 more keepers to cull a limit. All of this within 10 minutes. Ok here's the deal: if your crankin you should catch fish early but the bite is there all day. Back at the scales it took 26 lbs to win, 2 people caught 11+. Crankin, jigs, dropshot, brushhogs, and finess all do the trick. We ended up with 12 1/2 lbs so it's all were you go and what you through. Oh yea and some luck too.
    City: Bakersfield

Tips: Earlier the better, up close say 15' to bank, points and flats, look for bait, shad and craw pattern. Good luck and keep your line wet.
