Report: As a part of my Dad's (Earl Dodson) 70th birthday week, we decided to get his line wet after a 10 year plus drought. And what better way to do it than with some serious BLUEGILL fishing. San V is known for it's monster bluegill and Redears and we hit it just right this time around.

We caught 30 plus during the day. Our best 17 (9 bluegill and 8 redear)tipped the scales to 17.05 lbs! My dad caught a 1.25 lb redear (best of the day!). We used medium nightcrawler pieces, meal worms, and redworms worked mainly in 10' with a split shot. Tompkin's cove and the Chimney were the most productive areas.

Just wanted to thank my Dad for a nice day of fishing with his son!! Can't wait to indulge ourselves with the first bluegill fry in years!!

    Your son,
    Mark
    City: San Diego, CA

Tips: medium night crawler pieces or meal worms in 10'-20' near tules and rock.

By the way, Sorry Leroy for making you cull all morning and I hope someone returns the gunfish that you broke off (15lb line, WHAT?)on a 3lbr. We all had a great time, again, thanks WSPFG and Rod Parker and Gary Marks.......see ya next year

Report: Fishing was fair today. Caught all three fish dropshotting in 15-20 water. Also saw people catching fish shallow on reaction baits. Fish appear to be moving into a prespawn pattern, the big ones should be on there way up.

Tips: Be careful of your motor overheating due to all of the floating debris in the water clogging the water hole on the outboard. Three people had to take their motors in to have cleaned out after last weekends outing.

Report: Took a couple o riends out today or some good clean un. Launched at 5:45 a.m. Went back into Toll Road Arm as there have been some very big ish breaking bait. The breaking ish continue to be very picky. The ish did not want anything on top or in the upper 3-5 eet o water. Tried every topwater I have Spooks, Sammy's, Dog-X, Pop-X, Rico etc. Tried Flukes and Assassins. No takers. Started randomly throwing spoons. There was so much bait and so many bass that showing the spoon to ish was not a problem. I caught 3 nice 3+ pound ish on the spoon and one o my buds caught a 5+. The bite there turned o and we went worming. Caught a ton o small ish and several good ish. Most o the ish were caught on the drop shot rig with a 4" robo worm in 10 - 25 eet o water on the grass lines.
    City: Lakeside

Tips: Same tip as last week. Worm ish are holding to the outside o the grass lines in deeper water and are not hard to catch. Secret: I I told you it wouldn't be a secret!

Report: Arrived at the lake about 5:30 am. Launched the boat and ran to the back o Kimball arm. Lots o big ish breaking on bait. These ish have been very pressured and are diicult to catch. Only saw a ew small ish caught and decided to go worming. Caught a ton o little ish split-shotting a 3" robo reaper and a ew keeper ish on a 4" worm on the drop shot. All the ish came rom 15-25 eet o water. Switched to 1/4 oz Duh jig in the spring moss color caught a couple o 2 pounders on the jig. Switched again to 8" Green Weenie Red Flake worms. Partner caught a 3+ on a topwater on breaking ish. I lost a 5+ on a split-shot worm, broke me o. Well good luck. El Cajon Ford tourny held there today and tomorrow.
    City: Lakeside

Tips: Grass is growing. Fish seem to be holding on the outside o the grass lines in 15+ eet o water. Try texas rigging large worms around the grass lines. Hope this helps.
