Fluorocarbon Fishing Lines

Outstanding for a wide

Also monofilament in structure, these lines are made with PVDF, commonly known as fluorocarbon. v T a h ri e et p y o o p f u ba la it r s it a y nd of te f c lu hn o i r q o u c e a s rbon is due to these

lines being invisible to fish. Unlike nylon, fluorocarbon refracts light nearly identical to water. In addition, fluorocarbon lines are fast sinking due to

higher density. Since fluorocarbons do not absorb water, they also maintain their original strength and abrasion resistance. These lines are higher

priced than nylon monofilaments, and do require greater care in knot tying.

Superlines

Gel-spun Polyethylene Microfibers are what superlines are made of -- this fiber is what makes them 3 to 4 times stronger than other types of line at equal diameter. These high-tech lines have almost zero stretch, and offer unsurpassed sensitivity. Berkley makes two types of superlines. Fused superlines like FireLine Fused Original and FireLine Fused Crystal, are more tolerant of line twist with virtually no “memory” -- and are made in smaller diameters that perform exceptionally well on spinning reels.

By contrast, conventional braided superlines can be made in larger diameters that are more suited for baitcast reels and techniques. Trilene Braid, for example, comes in pound tests up to 80 lb (15 lb. diameter) and performs outstandingly on baitcast reels with less reel-dig in, wind-knotting and

rod-tip wrap.

Uni-Filament Fishing Line

Made out of gel-spun polyethylene, much like a superline, this ultimate spinning reel fishing line consists of hundreds of Dyneema® nanofilaments that are molecularly linked and shaped into a unified filament fishing line. Dyneema®, The World’s Strongest Fiber™, gives this line superline-type strength and our uni-filament process makes it the thinnest Berkley line ever giving it a combination of casting and sensitivity never before seen in any category.
