The numbering system for Cousins rods has evolved over 4 decades of rod building. It’s intended to assist in describing the rods in length, power, action and construction style. Some numbers may deviate slightly, so if you have questions on our numbering system please feel free to contact us.

We utilize a number of different suffix’s in the numbering system to describe our rods in the model number. This helps us, our retail partners, and the consumer to better understand the action, style and makeup of the rod. Example: GSK 692XFS is a 6 foot 9 inch rod with a number 2 power which is a medium in bass rods with an Extra Fast action, built as a spinning rod.
