What experience have you had that will help you in the competition/reality show? i’ve fished tournaments since ‘90. i think my time on the delta will give me an edge at accurate casting; but i’ve won tournaments on Clear lake, deep water lakes and spotted bass lakes so i think i’m well rounded.

Will this change your life? The prize of $600,000 is life-changing money; but it will still be gone someday. The exposure is what i think will be life-changing to my daily fishing life. The accomplishment and the trophy last forever. The money is just like in everything else, you cannot count it until it’s yours. i’ve been close to winning a national Guard event and you just don’t think about the money until the win.

Now that you got chosen, do your friends that you encouraged to try out, wish they did? They are nothing but happy for me. My family is happy, my girlfriend is happy, my brother and sister are so proud. i have so much support. now i have to go and

represent myself and the West Coast. We are so lucky to have this opportunity for us out here. i want to say thank you to WSoBass for not neglecting the west.

editor’s note:

Post interview the remaining contestants and the filming location of “The dream” was announced. The lucky 8 anglers will travel to Grand lake in okla. off- limits for the area began the day it was announced. a full list of the lucky 8 was released and included one more Calif. angler travis Moran from Carmel. Many know him from the creative and entertaining vid work produced by Bass Hookups, a collaborative effort of travis and his brothers Spencer and Parker. on short notice due to publication deadline, travis was able to squeeze in a few questions about his experience thus far with “The dream”. view travis Moran’s video audition here.

How did you decide what would be in your audition video? off the cuff - with my two brothers Parker and Spencer behind the camera being way too hard as critics and way too creative with the profanities.

All reality shows have different characters...the jock, the villain, the class clown, the underdog, the cheerleader, etc. What character do you think you will be portrayed as on “The Dream”? obviously, the stiff, way too serious guy.

Are you more likely to involved in a show- mance or a bro-mance? Hopefully some bro-mances - my girlfriend wouldn’t be too excited about a show-mance. really, i look forward to meeting a group of people that feel as passionate about a sport as i do.

How will being picked change your life? i will be running for president... of a small bass club and at the very least help promote our company, basshookups.com.

How would winning the WSOBass change your life? it would be a dream come true. My journey with bass fishing will go on regardless; but a victory
