No tricked out truck would be complete without some big tires and nice rims. Avena’s Tundra has 20” KMC Rockstar rims on Toyo Open Country M/T 35x12.50 tires. “They are bigger and louder, but definitely serve a purpose,” he said of the big tires. “Many of the lakes we fish have a public ramp or two, but we always launch closest to where we will be fishing in the tournament. That can mean launching on mud ramps and driving down dirt roads to get there so the tires allow us to launch in those types of places.”

Lifting your truck is another great way to make your truck stand out. “I lift mine six inches so I can use those bigger tires and it also makes it look better,” he believes.

A.R.E. ROD PODS
Avena runs two of these on the top of his truck and although they may look like missiles, they serve an important purpose. “I can put 10- 12 spinning rods or 14 or 15 baitcast rods in each one of them. It’s great to use that for storage and they are very secure as they are locked and fit right into my roof rack,” he says.
