The W.A.R. Report is designed to display the pedigree of the Western Angler, and continue to build upon a proud tradition of Western Bass Fishing.

Based on the three professional bass fishing organizations currently operating in the West, FLW Series National Guard Western Division, FLW Stren Series and WON Bass Northern and Southern Pro / AAA divisions. Also included is the most heralded tournament in the Western United States, the U.S. Open.

The W.A.R. Report gives one point per finishing position in each of the above tournaments, and then applies a multiplier based on strength of field and tournament format.  

For example, The FLW National Guard receives the highest multiplier based on strength of field.  Stren Series tournaments rank in the middle, while WON Bass events receive a smaller multiplier mainly due to the shared weight format.

The W.A.R. Report is designed to paint a picture of an angler’s consistency and longevity, as it is a three-year running total.

As such, the W.AR. Report will reach its full ranking at the conclusion of the 2008 tournament season with the completion of the FLW Series National Guard Western Division finale at Lake Shasta in October.   

At that point the first W.A.R. Report Five Star Angler will be promoted.

The W.A.R. Report Five Star Angler will receive a custom made “bass” electric guitar by Duane Calkins of WoodShopRocks.com.  (The WoodShopRocks.com “bass” electric guitar will be similar to the one presented to 2007 Bassmaster Angler of the Year Skeet Reese to commemorate his title [shown here]).
