San Luis - San Luis Stripers on up swing
2004-09-25 Jackson Chapman Sacramento CSBA
John Poindexter, reports the striper fishing to be on the up swing at San Luis Reservoir, “The water level at San Luis is now at 604,000 acre-feet and rising from a low point of 441,000 just a few weeks ago. DWR had forecast a low point of 270,000 to 300,000 acre-feet due to the Jones Tract levee break. Thanks to cooler weather in August they were able to avoid the extreme lows. The lake is on the rise and should be very fishable when the weather stabilizes this fall”. Followed by another report, “…a 22 lb. stripper taken in front of trash racks on Saturday 9/25/04. Guy was using anchovies about 50 feet. Lot of fish 3 to 5 lbs. being caught”.
