“Stripers are tough as Anglers fish the area, there is a glimmer of hope though as there seems to be increasing numbers at the Firing Line and entrance to Montezuma Slough. Getting bait is difficult so most are tossing Shad.Bullheads are still in short supply, bait anglers are relying on shad and shrimp baits. The Better bet is for lure tossing anglers along the shorelines. The stripers are running 4 to 8 pounds but the numbers are increasing. Top areas include Middle Ground and Bluebell.”
