Mohave - Willow Beach Road suffers Damage

2004-10-27 NDOW

Small stripers continue to be caught on the Arizona side of the lake from Owl’s Point to the narrows above Cottonwood Cove. Drifting anchovies and squid has been the preferred method for catching the fish. Most of the fish have been running from 8 ounces to 1 pound.

Fishing was difficult following last week’s rainbow trout plant at Willow Beach because of low water level. The fish were stocked from the dock because that was the only area that the stocking truck could access the water.

The access road to Willow Beach suffered flood damage during last week’s storm. Anglers heading to Willow Beach should avoid driving on the road during rains because of the possibility of being caught in flood conditions.
