Havasu - Havasu Fishing Report
2004-11-23 John Galbraith, Anglers Pro Shop
"Lake Havasu Fishing Report"
Lake level 448.67 ft.
"Striped Bass"
Good striper action continues around
the lake with good catches coming from
the chalk cliffs around midday using sassy shads,
Stump Jumpers & Kobes with a feather tail,
Sandpoint & Black meadow landing in the morning
using spoons in 28 to 48 ft of water, and
Havasu springs in the evening after dark hours
using live shad and chrome or white ratl traps.
Some Black Crappie to 1 lb. being caught
using white, chartreuse or red Canyon Mini tube jigs around
submerged brush piles. Use sonar in deeper
water (15 to 30 ft) to locate these seldom
fished brush piles.
Large and smallmouth bass fishing
continues to be fair to poor, try a
1/4 oz. darterhead with a Yamamoto single tail
grubs in cinnamon/purple or
blue pearl w/ silver fished near dropoffs
or shad schools where active fish are feeding,
Dropshot rig with a Roboworm body shad is also
a good choice.
