    Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, mounted another commanding performance this weekend as Lowrance professional angler Wesley Strader won his first-ever Bassmaster Elite event, and the $100,000 prize. The tournament was held May 4-7 on Kentucky Lake in Paris, Tennessee.

    In one case, a wildlife officer contacted three anglers in Madera County in the early morning hours of April 12 as they pulled their boat from a local lake. They were in combined possession of 404 crappie. Subtracting out a legal limit of 25 fish each, they were in possession of a combined overlimit of 329 crappie.

    Currently, the popular reservoir in northeastern Utah—known for producing some of the largest lake trout in the country—has too many small lake trout in it. The abundant small lake trout are competing with kokanee salmon and rainbow trout for food. Because there isn't enough food to go around, the rate at which the lake trout are growing is in decline. And, the number of kokanee salmon and rainbow trout in the reservoir is declining too.
