    Yamaha Marine Precision Propellers (YPPI), Inc. broke ground recently on a new 54,000 square foot manufacturing facility on five of 28 acres in Greenfield, Ind. The company’s expansion is slated to add 30 new jobs and increase total manufacturing output by 67 percent.

    In a ceremony held in Yorktown, Virginia, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke shared a $14.7 million check with Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) Vice President Heather Lougheed, who accepted on behalf of America's recreational boaters. The amount represents 2017-18 funding for the federal Boating Infrastructure Grant (B.I.G.) program, which funnels user taxes paid by boaters to develop transient boating projects.

    An estimated 200,000 to 300,000 fall-run Chinook salmon were killed early yesterday morning at the Feather River Fish Hatchery – Thermalito Facility due to a pump failure from a faulty wire. More than two million remaining salmon at the facility will be released over the next month as they reach an appropriate size.
