    “Lake Norman is one of the most diverse fisheries that we can visit,” said Quaker State pro Matt Arey of Shelby, North Carolina, who has 20 career top-10 finishes in FLW competition. “There are a ton of different options to catch bass, and anglers have won tournaments all over the lake. They’ll be catching them as deep as 40 feet and as shallow as six inches. I think you’re going to have to hit a lot of different areas and mix up patterns to win.

    MINNEAPOLIS – FLW announced today the dates and location for the 2017 FLW College Fishing National Championship and the date for the third annual FLW College Fishing Open on Kentucky Lake. The National Championship will be held May 31-June 3 on Wheeler Lake in Rogersville, Alabama, host to multiple major FLW tournaments. The annual FLW College Fishing Open will be held April 7-8 on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Kentucky.

    Stripes are in the area. Best area has been Courtland to Walnut grove. The Sacramento Turning Basin is really the unsung hero here as there continues to be stripes caught there by lure tossers. Hair Jigs and small shad patterned swim baits are the top choices here as well. Bank anglers Pile worms and cut baits prevail.

Hosted by the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the tournament will feature 50 of the world’s best bass-fishing professionals casting for the sport’s biggest award – $300,000 cash.

    In an effort to avoid the masses head North as Smallies are grabbing baits throughout the area. Craw patterns are key. Summer night pattern prevails for bait tossing anglers. Catfish start to show in better numbers with Mackerel. Sardines and livers are the best bets for whisker fish. Striper Trolling and plug casting has been Improving the last few days. Trolling the Angry Eyes and Savage Preys is the best bet.

    We had another solid tournament with many new faces in the field. Marc Young and Dave Newton have been with us all year and the reaction bite was able to elevate them to the top in this event. Frogs were key to their success which netted them big fish for the day of 7.75 pounds and a 25.24 pound limit. With Options and 380.00 in Big fish money they made 2147 dollars for the victory.
