Barbasol®, America's No. 1 shaving cream, is a new Major League Fishing (MLF) sponsor

TULSA, Okla. - Barbasol®, America's No. 1 shaving cream, is a new Major League Fishing (MLF) sponsor for the 2018 season of the popular TV show that features competitions among the world's top bass anglers

"Major League Fishing fits right into our strategy of targeting active men who are always on the go," said Barbasol's Media Buyer, Colin Wiggins. "In addition to the show's top ratings in outdoor programming, MLF resonates well with men in all age groups and that's equally important to us. This partnership is a great way to promote our shaving cream and new razor line while connecting with the passionate fan base of MLF."

"Barbasol is a household name and a wonderful addition to the Major League Fishing family of sponsors," said MLF President and CEO Jim Wilburn. "Our anglers identify with the Barbasol brand and are just as excited as we are to have a leading national name like it associated with competitive bass fishing."

Although a new Major League Fishing sponsor team, Barbasol is a nearly a 100-year-old brand that offers a comprehensive lineup of shaving cream, razors, personal care and grooming products.

MLF pro Mike Iaconelli flashes a big grin when catching a dandy largemouth, providing a photo opportunity for the angler and serving as a good example as why being 'well groomed' when fishing a televised event has its advantages.

Major League Fishing is also familiar with No. 1 rankings. The show has been the top-rated program on Outdoor Channel in Q1 for three years in a row, according to ratings recently released by MLF's parent company Outdoor Sportsman Group.

MLF also airs on World Fishing Network, CBS, CBS Sports Network and Discovery Channel.

About Major League Fishing

Developed through a joint effort between Outdoor Channel and two-dozen premier bass fishing anglers in 2011, Major League Fishing brings the high-intensity sport of competitive bass fishing into America's living rooms in the form of riveting two-hour TV episodes. World-class anglers are filmed over the course of a six-day event. The show captures their efforts as they utilize a demanding format that allows them to weigh all the "scorable bass" they catch. Unlike other competitive fishing events, live leaderboards in the boats allow anglers to know their standings at all times.
